The peeler blade side of this tool works well, though it does tend to take thicker than normal peelings. It is kind of downhill from there. The julienne side does work but requires some effort to do so. I find it best for veg that is fairly non-fibrous, and with the skin removed beforehand. The problem with skins or fiberous flesh is that the julienne vertical “blades” do not have sharp edges so they “catch” on skin and fibers and quickly plug up (see photos). In addition, since I have to apply a bit of force to keep the veg in contact at full julienne blade depth, the julienne blade is bending with use. This peeler also advertises potato eye removers on the sides. These “removers” are also not sharp. In addition, the peeler head width interferes with eye removal operation. The end result is they are too cumbersome to use. You can sharpen the vertical julienne blades for improved performance, however, be aware that would remove the plating and the blades then may have a tendency to develop rust. The included brush is a necessity to regularly clean out the julienne blade area - glad it was included. The handle has held up well during use. Since this peeler is advertised as a “julienne vegetable peeler”, that is the focus of my rating for this product. It works, but not as well as it should.

It would be nice if this included a cap of some sort for the blades. I keep it on our magnetic strip with the cutlery.

I was interested in this peeler for two reasons. One, I am in charge of salads in our house, and I like to use peelers to put things like carrot slices on top in addition to peeling cucumbers and sometimes other vegetables and fruits. My wife uses peelers all the time, so I figured she might be interested in it as well. The second reason, though, is that I really like the Tasty brand, and even though we had peelers, I wanted to try this one out. I am extremely pleased with the decision.First of all, my wife was at first like, why do we need another peeler? Then she was making a new recipe that called for zucchini ribbons and voila, the reason became clear. Needless to say, she was pretty happy to have it. It allows you to make much thicker slices than the other peelers we had. You can also julienne by flipping it around, so that's very cool as well. I used the regular side to peel a cucumber, and it does a fantastic job for that. The blade is, again, super-sharp, and you get a lot of control over how thin or thick you want your peels. Our other one that is similar doesn't easily let you do that. It can be hard to get a nice thin peel, and impossible to get one ribbon-thick.Finally, this has a nice thick handle that makes it a pleasure to use without it taking up too much space in the drawer. I definitely prefer it for just about everything I might have used our other peelers for. They include a small brush for cleaning that we haven't needed yet. It's easy enough to clean under the tap, but it's nice to have in case stuff gets jammed up in the blade.

It's one of those kitchen tools that you look at and say "do I really need this?" and the answer is unequivocally, yes... yes you do. Because not only does it do a better job at peeling in general than my grandma's 1900s all purpose, steel, hasn't been sharpened since the first World War peeler, but it makes beautiful patterns as well. And since we first eat with our eyes, it makes to have a Julienne peeler that makes vegetables more appealing.On top of all that, the handy brush really helps keep it clean, so you don’t have to tear up yet another sponge to wash it. Enjoy!

This is the best peeler I’ve ever owned and I’ve tried many, including some high-end brands at five times the price. It’s outstanding for julienne cuts and the blades have stayed perfectly sharp and straight. Highly recommended.

I've used some Tasty branded products before, and they are usually a hit or miss, but this peeling has been a hit. It gets the job done easily; as it's super sharp and precise. It definitely takes the work out of doing it the old-school way.
