Read 200+ degrees below what actual was. Thank God I had another thermometer. Otherwise the oil may have gotten hot enough to ignite. Just looking at it, I believe the business end of the red needle is either bent or the pin on which it is mounted is bent, enough that the needle is contacting the printed scale--and friction may be keeping the needle from registering the correct temp. Taylor has a good name and this is the first time I have gotten around to using it. Too late to return for a replacement or refund.
