Really fun! My husband expected a color change effect so he laughed so hard when it spit water. The trick uses expansion of heated air to fill the figure with water and push the water back out. So you need 3 steps: 1) heat by pouring hot water on it, 2) then submerge in cold water while heated to get it to 'fill up' and then 3) when you're ready pour hot water on it again to expand air and push water back out.Definitely a fun gag if you're having tea with a friend or want to get a laugh. Or show a fun 'experiment' to a kid.

These 2 little froggies are adorable. And frankly, it's the cutest little tea pet that I've ever seen. Their tiny little open mouths going, "Oooh", well, it's just so cute!Note the photos.Adorable.

There's too much yellow paint making the pictured blue speckled rock look more dull green (even when wet) and is not nearly as bright or colorful as in the photo. It's all a dull khaki looking lump on my tea table. And I have as yet been unable to get the frog to spout. But hey, whoever heard of a spitting frog and in real life he'd probably want to be camouflaged sitting on a rock out of the water. What can you expect bringing amphibians into your home and where you drink your morning tea?

I have followed the directions. Tried more than once and could not get it to work! It’s real cute but didn't work.

Handwerklich hübsch gemacht, allerdings mit abgebrochenen Augen angekommen und der versprochene Spritzeffekt funktioniert nicht.

Did not work as advertised, not sure if one-off defect or what, went through steps with hot water -> cold water soak -> hot water and nothing happened. Can't see any holes for water to soak in, so that may contribute

It is very cute and I will probably get another as a birthday gift. If you follow directions, it sprays a high thin stream of water. It can be prepped ahead of time. That means let little frog sit in boiling water for a minute or two , then submerge in cold water. When you pour hot tea over it, it will spit its stream of water. My only concern would be hard water build up in the tiny hole.
