To open the ladder to full length:
Start with the top bar,grasp the hand grips on each side of the rung and pull up to extend the rung. When each rung is fully extended,you will hear a "click",confirming that the lock mechanisms are engaged for that level.
To open the ladder to intermediate length:
1.Put a foot on the bottom rung to stabilise the telescopic ladder.
2.Start with the second rung from the bottom,grasp the hand grips on each side of the rung and pull upwards to extend the step.

This moves into one of the top 10 best things I’ve ever bought! Easy to maneuver around. Light to carry. Solid. Gets me on the roof, up as high as I need to be in the house! All the things. If you’ve ever had to move a standard extension ladder around, this is a game changer! Easy to store! Easy to use!!

wow, i LOVE this thing! i tried to wrestle a little giant into a narrow angled stairwell to paint a high window and hang a light but i absolutely could not. i needed something compact that would extend straight up to the height i needed. so i bought this, my -third- ladder. it tucks right behind a door when collapsed and i can haul it arpund with one arm. i weight 135 and it did not bounce or sag even the tiniest bit. i felt totally secure on it. i can't even say i will ever haul out the little giant again unless i have to climb on the roof but this bad boy was an EXCELLENT purchase. i would say yes if you are wondering if you should get it. yes yes yes.

I bought this product to use for occasional work on my RV. The collapsibility is nice, but the mechanism is complex, with lots of little plastic parts, and I wondered how sturdy and reliable it would be. I used it a couple times and was happy with it, and then sure enough, on maybe the 5th or 6th time using it one of the little plastic switches the allows it to collapse broke. I didn’t drop it or do anything out of the ordinary - it just broke while I was collapsing the ladder.This happened ~13 months after I purchased the ladder, after, like I said, I used it fewer than half a dozen times. I contacted the seller and was told the warranty is 12 months. I politely requested an exception to the standard warranty since the product was barely a month past the warranty expiration, was barely used, and broke during routine use. So far the vendor has denied my request.Now I need to buy a brand new ladder, as well as figure out how to dispose of a basically brand new one that won’t collapse. Super disappointing to see a seller refuse to stand behind their product and take a slightly more acccomodating approach to their warranty policy. There’s dozens of sellers of comparable products on Amazon. Spend your money elsewhere on better quality and better customer service.

This is a great ladder that found its permanent place in the back of my truck. I just wish it would have a carrying case. I use it to lean against trees to exchange SD cards in my trail cameras. I would not use it for construction purpose, it is a little too wobbly for that.

We bought this ladder for our fifth wheel. We USED to have the LITTLE GIANT, another ladder toted by RVers. That one was just too much and too many variables to set up on it that we didn't use or need, so we got rid of it and bought this one. This product is VERY sturdy. the mechanism for extension and retraction is genius! BUT---it's VERY VERY heavy for one person to manipulate the rungs and open it up. That being said, we really do like it and it takes up a VERY small amount of space in our RV fifth wheel bay. It is simply an extension ladder, and that's all we needed for traveling and getting up on the sides of the coach to wash or clean things off.
