Product Reviewed: Seapro Telescoping Fishing Net (19.68” Retractable, 48” Fully Extended)I purchased this net for our pontoon boat due to its compact, storable design. While it is advertised to handle up to 16 lbs, my experience suggests it is more suitable for smaller catches.Observations: The net has an attractive design and rubberized netting material. However, with a 5 lb weight, it exhibited noticeable flexing and creaking. For our application, which often involves catching fish weighing 3-10 lbs, this net feels more appropriate for smaller fish.Pros:Compact storage under a boat seatAdequate net sizeRubber-type net reduces the chance of fish hooks getting caughtHand grip includes a bungee loop with a snap clipTelescoping handle allows for variable lengthsCons:Plastic foldable locking mechanism appears flimsyBasic grip feels cheapNet feels very stressed with just 5 lbs; a larger catch, such as a 15 lb redfish, might overwhelm itSummary: This is a 3-star product. It is recommended for small fish (1-2 lbs) where storage convenience is a priority.

…..the locking mechanism where this folds is just a piece of plastic, and there doesn’t appear to be any sort of lock on the telescoping handle.Save your money and buy something you can examine beforehand. I’m fairly sure I will be MacGyvering a fix for this before long.

This net has multiple issues. It looks really nice at first, but it couldn't even lift 8 lbs before failing. Also, the Twist to lock the Handle in place will UNLOCK with just a 1/4 turn. No matter how tight you twist to lock it in place, the slightest twist will cause it to release. Now, after the handle BENT and I tried to straighten it back out, it does stay extended a "little" better but will still releases too easily. My suggestion is to look elsewhere for a more reliable net to land your fish.

I like this new fishing net. It is constructed really well and looks great. It is made of aluminum and rubber, with a comfortable grip. The handle is retractable, so it can be short or longer. This net is very lightweight and easy to use. The blue color stands out better and just looks nice. I can't wait to take it on my next fishing trip.

This review is for the 11.81 inch folding net with 38" length. It's a good size for general fishing, though a large bass or pike would be too large for it. But it's a good compromise size for most of the fishing I do, when I don't want to drag out the giant 2-foot net. The aluminum stock is fairly thick and the fittings look sturdy enough. The net unfolds smoothly. The only thing I'd critique are the silicone material in the net itself is fairly thin, a little thinner than I'm used to, and the foam handle feels sort of cheap. Otherwise, for $26, this seems like a good basic net.

Nice net, decent design, and hey—it will work. Just don’t expect it to handle the big leagues. If you’re hauling in 2 to 5 pounders, this net is your trusty sidekick. But hook a monster? You’ll be going full-on gladiator, hand-landing that beast yourself.I was hoping for something bigger, but size matters, and this one came up a bit short. Still, for the smaller catches, it gets the job done just fine. Lightweight, foldable, and decent grip—it's perfect for those light days on the water.Just remember: if Moby Dick’s on the line, this net won’t be making a splash.
