Automatic Protection

The control box automatically monitors the system, and should the power go out or the main sump pump fail, the battery backup sump pump will take over to keep your basement dry.
Dual Float Switches—Twice the Protection
The Basement Watchdog Big Dog CONNECT (Model BWD12-120) battery backup sump pump includes a micro-reed Dual Float Switch. We introduced this technology, proven reliable in other uses for over 50 years, to the pump industry and improved it by including two floats. Simply stated: if one float is good, two is better.
Automatic Charging
The Basement Watchdog Big Dog CONNECT (Model BWD12-120) battery backup sump pump is equipped with an automatic, multi-stage, 20amp charger that keeps the battery fully charged and ready to go, plus it’s compatible with our maintenance-free battery. If your main pump fails, the charger is strong enough to power the pump directly off wall power, allowing for unlimited runtime.
Remote Notification
Knowing the status of your sump pump is critical whether you are at home or away. The Basement Watchdog Big Dog CONNECT (Model BWD12-120) battery backup sump pump can link to The Basement Watchdog Wi-Fi Module (Model BW-WiFi2) or a home-security system, allowing for real-time alerts via text, email, push notifications, or from your home-security provider.

Already better than the Zoeller Aquanot 508 it replaced. I really like the dual switch setup so it has a backup. It flows much more water than the Zoeller. The system is quiet, and my initial impression is that it is better build quality than the Zoeller battery backup sump. The warranty is certainly better. Time will tell if it lasts, but a Zoeller 508 pump quit within 3 years, and the switch went out at 5. I also found an issue with the pump when I removed the replacement pump on the Zoeller at 2 years old when I replaced the system with the basement watchdog.

The pump had rust on it, the float switch was dirty, the warning instructions for pump installation was inside battery holder, jumper cables were bent and wing nuts missing, controller unit was not in plastic packaging and dirty, warranty card missing... and secondary packaging in poor condition. Wear and tear likely minimal and serial number indicates relatively recent unit, but definitely not "New" as advertised. I'm hoping the $90 savings doesn't deteriorate the expected 12-15 year life Glentronics suggests for this model.

This was recommended to me by my plumber, who installed the unit. I am very pleased with it so far. The warning light was on once & I just had to reset it. It indicated that it went on during a power outage. I had occasion to call the company with a question & the tech connected me with management who were so helpful & explained in detail their answer to my query. 6 mos. of usage & it has saved me several times from a flooded basement.

I have a garage that occasionally will flood during heavy rains because the garage is at the end of the driveway and the garage end of the driveway is about 5 feet lower than street level. Such flooding would occur 1 or 2 times a year and would last for less than 1/2 hour. I needed a pump that would turn on automatically when water was present, had a battery backup and would tell me that it had activated. This unit does all this and has worked flawlessly for almost 2 years now.
