I paid for an item that is new and should not require rust-removal or gluing of parts. Here's the rest of the review: One star for the Beech-wood handle. No additional stars as there are defects: 1) The collet in which the reamer is inserted is rusted and therefore either of questionable quality or handling - or both. 2) The metal collar intended to cover the wooden handle is loose (and the edge is quite "wavy" - see photo). 3) I have not tied the reamers as the quality/handling of the other parts is substandard. BTW, no reviews for this item for any rating less than 5-stars. I found this suspicious and should have known better than to order anyway.

It really works well. I use it mainly to make the bead hole larger and smooth. It easy to use.

Sometimes a bead does not string easily. The bead hole might be clogged or uneven, and this really helps to string those beads. That is what I mostly use it for.

I bought this not for reaming beads, but they are perfect for sharpening seam rippers. I pretty much have to rip out most (or part) of every seam so my seam rippers (yes, I said rippers…I have lots) lose their edge quickly, but this little tool really sharpens them perfectly.

This works like a dream. I've had issues with Czech glass beads arriving with only partial holes. After accidentally breaking them trying to finish the hole myself, I just started setting them aside or throwing them away. When I got some India drilled gemstones in with the same problem, I bought this. (Gemstones are too expensive to be tossing them away.) Now I wish I'd purchased this sooner. The drill pieces ae easy to exchange. The handle allows for a nice grip. It came with a case to keep the drill pieces so that they don't get lost. Highly recommend.
