The product is functional but add in some sort of fall protection. I’m not convinced this device should be used alone. Consider a first person up system for fall prevention or possibly an opposite side anchored line or ridge anchors

This product makes you a pro on a roof. Don’t buy it from Amazon, it’s $539 from the manufacturer.

The extension allows a reach to the ridge of fairly steep roofs. It isn’t possible to go just part way.
