I love these and use them on all my stubborn weeds, and clumps of crab grass. They save my hands since I don’t have to pull weeds by hand as much. I bought one of these for all my family member who enjoy gardening.I will say, if they made a version with a narrower tip I would buy those too for the narrow spots between concrete slabs. And the teeth do get dirt stuck in them so I’d recommend brushing them out while it’s still wet. But these are the best I’ve found for pulling out weeds that are in awkward places. Most of mine are between concrete and astroturf, or concrete and wooden fence.

Helps pull the sticker weeds from the root better than I can with just my hands.Update:My biggest issue with these is they need a spring or something to help control squeezing them. It is a big issue. I’m not happy with these any longer for that reason alone.

These actually work! They are very helpful for those hard to reach places where weeds grow (e.g. rocks, edging, fence line). They work far better than my fingers with gloves and don’t disturb the dirt and landscape fabric. Removing the root is precise and easy with the Lawn Jaws. They are an excellent addition to the arsenal of useful weeding tools!

A gardener friend recommended this and it was a great recommendation. The serrated pinchers work very well at getting to the roots of small weeds and pulling them out root and all (not larger dandelions, though) . Very handy too for gardeners.

Wish they were not so tapered and wish handles were larger and easier to squeeze.

We had a tropical storm that hit our area, 15 hours of rain, which soaked the ground so much that weeds that hadn't sprouted in years finally had moisture to grow. My front yard was now supporting a population of goathead weeds, commonly called "sticker plants" out here. I read up on the weeds, cause I didn't know what they were & found out that if you don't remove them carefully, you risk the root staying in the ground & of course, resprouting with new rainfall. I don't need to worry about stickers every time I go outside & then maybe track them inside! Those things are painful if you step on them barefoot.Using the lawn jaws to get right into the ground where the plant sprouts up & grasping & pulling brought out the root & all. The sticker part of the plant is where the seed is so I needed to pull up the viney branches & root all at once so nothing got cut off & remained. The lawn jaws did this - my ground is kinda hard but I was able to get the tool pushed into the ground to grasp the root. I like that the tool has jagged teeth to grab roots.I wish they had one you could use standing up, same tool but with longer arms on it. I decided on this because when I looked at the foot operated weed pullers, I decided they might disturb the plant too much when removing it & leave sticker pods behind. Also, the plants don't have a deep root, but a thin root about 4-6" long.So in closing, this worked for me. Pushing the jaws in & pulling up without disturbing too much of the weed & therefore getting ALL of the weed.

These things work really well for removing stubborn weeds, especially for grasping just below the soil surface or under rocks. Only drawback is that they aren't "spring-loaded" and have to be manually opened, which sometimes takes two hands. The benefit of how they work outweighs that - I ordered a second pair.

I am quite disappointed with the performance of the Lawn Jaws. Prior to receiving the Lawn Jaws, which I had looked forward to receiving with much anticipation, I was using a long nosed pliers and it was much easier to handle and manipulate in my hand. While the pliers did not always grasp the weed as effectively as I would have liked, it did not cut the weed as the teeth of the Lawn Jaws does. For this product to be truly effective, the handles need to be at least 50% longer and thicker and rugged, so that one could have a better grasp. Additionally, the teeth are too sharp and should be made a little blunt so that the weed would not be cut when pulling at it.

It works good for tough weeds, dandelions. It fills with dirt in clay soil so it can loose its grip. Sandy loam it would work great. It would have been nice to have a spring handle that would open easier.
