Toy history was made when Richard James conducted an experiment with tension springs. During the experiment, one of the springs fell to the floor and began to "walk". Slinky is very small so if the stairs are bigger than the slinky which most will be, it will not work. Definitely overpriced should be $2 max.

Not blaming the vendor. I did not pay attention to the size of the item. This is a minature version, suitable for a stocking stuffer. It is not the full size. My bad.

Es un producto muy bonito, lo compré para mi hija pensando que duraría relativamente bastante tiempo, pero por ser pequeño (la versión JR es chica, hasta para un niño), se dobló con facilidad y ya no se pudo reparar.Me parece una mejor compra para un adulto como "juguete de oficina" para desestresarse que para un niño.

If you remember these as a kid, this is much smaller ( it does say Junior ) but it’s still a slinky. Bought it as a stocking stuffer, will probably do it again next year but will try to find the bigger ones

This item was originally $1.75 or so as an add-on item for a full size slinky. It was no longer available and the "similar item" showed me this one. I searched original slinky and this came u.. When I finalized my transaction it was no longer an add-on, but a $6 item. After receiving it, it is roughly the diameter of a quarter. It wouldn't even be worth the $2 I originally wanted it for. I rarely return items but am highly disappointed, and this one is going back.UPDATE: REFUSED RETURN. Horrible business practices. Bait and switch. In the description it only stat s Jr. Twice in the 2 page essay about this ORIGINAL SLINKY. It give s dimensions as 1"x1.5"x1". And yes in the description lower it says 2"x2.5"x2". Clearly misleading, and baiting. Amazon should be ashamed to allow this to prosper under their watch.

The slinky arrived in excellent condition and certainly faster than the book I'd ordered a week before. The shipping was surprisingly cheap and convenient, and arrives very fast, allowing you to track the package as well. I'm glad I bought my slinky from this vendor in particular! The item fits into the palm of your hand and works as one should expect a slinky to work. My daughter will most likely find this very useful for her science fair project and the fast shipping definitely helped her work on it as soon as possible!

My cat discovered that slinky jrs are loads of fun to play with and bite/chew. So every year or two I have to buy him a new one because they get rusted from his slobber. I would recommend the larger/regular slinky to someone buying this for their kids but this is the perfect size for a cat toy. Just hang it from something and they can play with it on their own whenever they want. Just beware that if it is close to your bedroom, your cat might wake you up at night by playing with it.

When attached to a bird feeder pole equipped with a squirrel baffle, the Slinky Jr. will absolutely prevent squirrels from getting around the baffle. After they climb up the pole and grab hold of the Slinky Jr., squirrels get a quick ride down. Some make several attempts before they give up. I ordered two more to replace older ones that have rusted and lost some of their spring. Since the Slinky Jr. is not intended for outside use, it wouldn't be fair to complain on durability. They will, however, last at least five years outdoors.
