About Thea Gouverneur
Thea Gouverneur started counted cross stitch design in 1959 from her hometown Sassenheim in the Netherlands. She is now one of the leading cross stitch designers and her designs kits are sold worldwide.
Growing up Thea was always surrounded by bulb fields and flowers and these flowers became a great inspiration for her designs.

The product was sent with 1 week delay and Amazon refund me delivery cost. That was nice to see they try to safe my New Year present. Somehow I did the pic in 2weeks and it was super difficult. A couple of threads from a chart was super bad quality, they broke all the time! I do embroidery with DMC, Madeira and many other much cheaper brands many years and first in my life I was working with so poor quality threads. Also, they suggest to work with one thread, but it doesn’t cover the fabric. Two threads to mach for the fabric they included. As a result not so bright, colorful bee as on promo pic and even on a package. In total.., I am extremely surprised and disappointed as Thea Not so cheap brand for such a quality. Was thinking about to buy one more kit but now have really big doubts. Three stars only for Amazon service not for Thea quality.

I love this pattern so far. Although I'm having a little trouble with the black aida! All of floss is presented as well! Quality aida and embroidery floss!

Schade... so kann ich dieses Bild nicht sticken. Es ist eine Nadel dabei, es ist Garn dabei und auch der schwarze Stoff ist dabei. Aber was nützt mir das alles, wenn nur eine Hälfte des Musters dabei ist… der obere Teil. Der untere Teil fehlt. So bleibt mir nur 1 Stern und das auch nur, weil ich nicht weniger geben kann.

The tape used to hold the thread together is sticky, hard to remove and tore some of the ends of the thread. For the $ spend on this project, I feel an extra strand of thread could be included. There really isn't a margin for error. While it is nice that the thread is divided by symbol with the paper chart, a color description would be helpful.

I was so surprised no one spoke up about the way this kit is put together. The floss comes with a piece of heavy paper with holes in it and the symbol above the hole as a guide to use the correct floss color on the bee. Well, the floss is going to be a mangled mess by the time you get even part way through the project. If any of the floss comes out of the holes, you have no way of knowing which symbol it goes with. To be certain you do not run into trouble with getting the floss knotted or tangled beyond use, you will have to redo the poorly done design for charting the colors.I plan to take each out and place the individual colors in a "snack" baggie and put the symbol on a heavy weight paper. Each will be about a total of about 35, but I see no way of assuring yourself a safe finished product leaving it as is. I have only just started and it has already started to tangle and look a mess.I have many years of cross stitching in my history and using all sorts of fabric from the average fabric to linen, and usually use my own DMC floss. On occasion I have ordered kits, but this one beats all I have seen as far as being below average in the packaging of the flosses. Very disappointed and for this reason, I would not recommend it to anyone else. Especially considering the price. It has come down considerably since I first started looking at it, but it is still a bit high for what you get. I am hoping the finished product will make the remembrance of inconveniences of less importance when completed.Update: The floss holes have several symbols that do not apply to this particular bee pattern. But, there was one hole that does have the symbol on the chart (bee pattern) that is missing. I will have to reorder the kit to get the color because the kit only has the symbols listed and no DMC number for reference. Had they taken the time to put the DMC number on the strip of flosses and symbols, you could either buy or check in your stash and see if you have the color. There is no way to know, even the shade of the floss missing. But the pattern has that symbol quite a lot, so it should not be fudged as far as picking a color willy-nilly. This kit has been a disappointment.
