Very good strings if you want smooth-feeling roundwounds.

These strings are really unlike most others that I've played. I've read a few unfavorable reviews from those who play metal or are heavy handed players. Yeah these are not the string for you. That said I tend to favor 45-105s so I thought these would be way to light for me. I mostly play using fingers and I tend to play R&B, Motown, Disco, and Funk, with some new wave. OMG these strings were a revelation. They sound great right out of the package which is rare really. Most strings take some weeks to settle in from my experience. The are deep and punchy yet responsive and articulate. They just have an incredibly pleasing sound to me. I love TI flats but hadn't heard much about their rounds and found I really can live with the light gauge and deep tone. I have moved most of my basses over to these except for the ones that have flats on them. I didn't mean to be a TI fan and their strings are expensive but I really do love their strings so it's worth it to me.

These strings are perfect for light touch technical players that want to add to the playability of their instrument. They last longer too, which takes at least some of their cost down.

I've played bass professionally for over 20 years and tried every string on the market. These are the only ones I trust and no other string else feels the same. The balance, tension, and tone are perfect for me; I play with a light touch and do quite a bit of technical work, so perhaps they wouldn't be ideal if you are really heavy handed. They're not cheap, but worth the cost. Everyone who picks my bass up immediately remarks that it's easy to play and asks what the strings are.

Probably the worst set of strings I've used in 30 yrs of playing.

I love TI's flatwound strings on my fretless bass, and had high hopes for these on my fretted instrument. But I can't say I really like them. They're "interesting" and I may go back and play with them some more some day, but I can't see using these every day. The low tension didn't bother me - I was expecting that, and I play with a fairly light touch anyway. They felt great on the fingers, and were low noise due to the thin windings. The A, D and G strings sounded full and pleasant. The problem was the E string, which lacked all the higher harmonics present in the other strings, and really made a jarring contrast. It has a nice low-end thump, much like the flatwound version, but just doesn't fit with the other strings. This was disappointing, in that TI generally excels at making balanced string sets.

I have been using these strings for several years. This set has a D string that does not sound like the others.
