Bought these for my fretless Jazz Bass. These are exactly what I was looking for, flexible, plenty of mwaahh, and balanced output. Depending in eq setting I can get pretty close to double bass sound up to almost Jaco tone. Shipping was less than a week from Austria. Would I buy again…yes, but don’t expect these to wear out. Very smooth almost mercury like feel.

The difference between the Thomastik-Infield strings and the Fender strings I had been using was unbelievable. The Thomastik are smoother, brighter and much more flexible making playing with them much easier. I highly recommend them and will use no other on my bass.

That said. This four-pack had defective product and had to be returned for credit. Cheers to the dealer for handling the return and credit graciously.

I recently acquired a vintage Ampeg AUB-1 fretless bass which requires a string 3 inches longer than a standard long scale bass string set, and these fit the bill perfectly, I would highly recommend these strings to anyone needing a longer set of bass strings.

Started using these about a year ago, and they were the very best. (I play a fretless with a maple neck, so rounds are out.) Last couple of sets have been poorly balanced, though - OK at first, but D and G quickly lost highs. I can deal with that but it has to be even across all four. I'll try another set or two and see.

I'd been looking for a bass string that was smooth as what I remembered about the Fender strings back in the 70s, and these strings certainly have a terrific feel to them. Something I'm glad about, because I've strung these up on a long-scale fretless and I like being able to wiggle a little to get up to the correct pitch, as well as add vibrato, and that's easier with a smooth-feeling string. The sound is warm and full, and I'm very happy with them. The price is a bit high, but with time I'll see if I'll ever need to change them, and that may make the cost ultimately reasonable if they last longer than some of the less expensive brands.
