Im a pipe welding at Norfolk Navy station. Have used Tillman gloves for decades. Was very surprised at just how quickly these gloves came loose at the seams on the fingers. Also not happy with just how quickly holes developed on the palms and fingers of gloves. Its as if the manufacturer started used thinner material. Never had a pair wear out this quickly.

Past few months I've tried 3 different Tig gloves. I weld quite a bit in my shop and put the gloves thru their paces. Quick little ranking below.1. Mechanic Tig PulsePros- Great dexterity right out of the package, didint really need any break in time. Really comfortable. Very, very good heat resistance, haven't had to use my Tig finger with them at all. Price is right.Cons - None so far, I'll update their longevity.2. Weldporn OG glovesPros - Price ($20), medium to high heat resistance (slightly less than the Mechanix), excellent longevity, stiching is what began to fail after a few months but it's expected as these are consumables. Good dexterity. Minimal shrinkage.Cons- Needed a slight break in period, nothing too bad. Could have better stiching but for $20, they are an excellent deal, look great and last a good while.3. Tillman 44 Top grain kidskinPros- most dexterity of them all because they are thin, which also becomes a con because they are thin and have horrible heat resistance. maybe it's because I weld aluminum which has high reflectivity but my hands are on fire with these gloves. Very comfortable because they are thin. I believe they have their uses, just not for me with aluminum.Cons- They shrink with heat, low heat resistance, priced as much as the Mechanix but less useful.Overall the Mechanix Pulse is what I will keep buying from now on. Definitely a winner.

These are great gloves if you are looking for mild heat protection but lots of dexterity. I use them for tig and they work great. Just know that these don't take much to damage.

These are the most comfortable TIG gloves I've ever put on. The Tillman 24CL has been my go-to for a while but I wanted to try another style in the hopes they would fit me better. So I ordered these 44L and a pair of 24CM gloves together to try out at the same time. These 44L gloves are great! They fit me better than the 24CL or 24CM gloves and leave no slack at the ends of the fingers and thumbs. The kidskin material is more supple than the 24C gloves, also made with kidskin. They aren't as tough as the 24C series and should only be used for actual TIG welding. Using any welding gloves for grinding, plasma/torch cutting, or handling hot material severely shortens their life. These won't last long at all for those activities, but will last a long time if you only use them for actual TIG welding. I have much better filler rod manipulation with these than with the 24C gloves.Bottom line these are what I'll be using from now on for TIG. The Tillman 24C I'll keep using for MIG welding, plasma cutting, and grinding.

20+ years of welding experience in Arc, MIG, and TIG: The gloves are a second skin- but with the protection for TIG welding in overhead, etc. excellent dexterity. I usually break in gloves with a coat of organic mineral oil then soak in water. When dry they are perfect. Thanks Amazon!

These are high quality and durable. I like the black because it will help turn helmet auto darkening off in brightly lit areas. Glove is great for feeding rod, but to thin and hot for torch hand. Best to use two diffent gloves when tig welding anyway.

Tillman doesn't seem to understand how a hand is shaped. You can't open your hand much without pulling on the seam at the inside of the thumb. They have nice thin leather that works well for a fine and delicate TIG. However, I don't expect them to last long and expect the thumb seam to rip out soon, unless I am extremely careful.
