This is not the most exciting thing to buy/review but great to have if you need it. I got this because I take care of my elderly dad who needs assistants. For starters, I would not recommending using this on yourself unless if you have good balance or if you are overweight. If you can't use your hand yourself, this would be just as hard because you don't have a good balance while trying to use it.The tong itself are solid. They don't bend or flex and the soft tips at the end helps. I had good control while assisting my dad with it.It comes with two hanger hook. This is great because you don't want to lay this on the ground or the sink after you are done even after you cleaned it off.Overall this is a good product and very helpful for someone in my situation.

These are nice tongs that can suit different reaches and needs. The handle and ends are rubber coated to help with grip and they open and close well. They come with some sticky pad hangers so you can attach the tongs for easy use. Since they are metal they do not flex and it takes coordination to use. I feel while serviceable a more flexible tool would be easier to use. I also have concerns that the rubber parts could harbor bacteria if they are not properly sterilized each time.

These are great for those of us who have a hard time reaching to properly clean ourselves. I keep one in the shower to use with my loofah, and one next to the toilet. i appreciate that they included hooks to hang them from. While these do look far more medical, I've found tongs like this work far better than the plastic wiping aids. They hold up better and are much easier to clean.

I actually use these tongs to pick up things that I drop. Unfortunately, I'm getting older and it's not as easy to bend down and grab certain things. So these are perfect for using in the bathroom for the toilet but they're also convenient for other uses. They're well made and the hinge works nicely. I found them easy to hold with the rubber handle. They grip well.

These toilet assistance tongs are very sturdy and heavy duty tongs, although they aren't the easiest to use. I would not consider them to be portable, as I cannot fit a 16" pair of tongs into any of my pockets. If ordering, I would also consider buying an attractive and discreet container for them to be stored in next to toilet, similar to a cylindrical toilet brush container. The silicone on the ends of these tongs provides a good grip, but the general shape of the gripping ends is not the best for holding toilet paper in a flat pad shape while wiping. Unless I use a large wad of toilet paper, the toilet paper rips and the tips of the tongs make contact with skin. While not unpleasant thanks to the silicone covering, it doesn't do a good job of removing debris from one's posterior. The tongs also require cleaning after this type of event occurs.I think an inexpensive bidet attachment might be an easier, if colder, option.

If you have limited mobility, this might help you some.I used the smaller one which seems to be the most practical and was able to make use of it, but you still need to have decent mobility to be able to use it. I would say if you have back issues, this would help you some, so you don't have to reach quite as much. They're on the lightweight side and the connection point on the small one has more give than the larger one, so I'm not sure how long this will last in the long term.

The Awaiymi Tongs for toileting look exactly as pictured. They operate and look like cooking tongs, except that the end is angled slightly, about 20 degrees. They are also fairly lightweight. The description says that this comes with a plastic box, but I only received the 2 tongs and 2 plastic hooks in a plastic bag. The longer 16" one, is a little too long for me and awkward to use, but it might be useful if someone has an extremely limited reach or is lying down. It works ok if you wrap several squares of toilet paper around the end and tuck the paper inside the clamp. Once you open the clamp, the paper will rip and can be shaken off the end. This is ok if you need assistance temporarily, but if daily longer term assistance is needed, you might want to research additional aids.If the user has any dexterity issues with the hands, this could be more troublesome than it's worth, because you have to manipulate the handles to open and close the tongs. These are not very portable or discreet either. I'd definitely have to hide these before having any visitors. They may have a purpose as a reaching tool if you have limited range of motion in the hips and waist. I was able to use them to fish out some utensils that fell into the bottom of the dishwasher.
