I got this for working on my car's wiring harness. This really simplified mapping out the wiring.The device is very responsive. The tone was very strong on each wire that I traced. I was able to track all the wires I needed relatively quickly.Since this was my first time using a tone generator I was happy to see that the instructions are good. They are clear and easy to understand without any translation issues.I really liked the case that comes with this tone generator. It fits all parts of the device snuggly and feels like it will provide some level of protection.The only thing I did not like about this tone generator is that the plastic case that houses the electronics feels very flimsy. It feels like it is one drop away from breaking to bits. The battery screw on the tone generator side is screwed directly into plastic with no threads. I fear that the batery door screw will eventually strip out the hole in the housing.Overall, I still think this is a good budget tone generator despite its shortcomings. It does what it is supposed to do at an excellent price.
