I had one of these a long time ago. Somehow lost it over the years. This one replaces it perfectly. Accuracy is consistent though this one I received the needle/pointer is off by 1 mm. I take this into consideration when I'm using it. Plus working on so many mechanical things, most things I work on don't require precise exact torque when tightened. Now if I were working on valve tightening or that kind of thing, then I would require near perfect accuracy. Tightening a lawn mower blade or lug nuts is not an exact science. Manifold on an engine or valves, then YES. This is a great product that does what it's meant to do.

Good. Fast delivery. Delivered in good quality packaging (just a good quality box to protect against accidental drops etc). Not sure about quality for every day use but great for my own car. Like the beam torque reading to decrease need for re-calibration like other types. Wish the handle was bigger grips are small.

I don't have the money to buy a high quality torch wrench. So, I just give this product a opportunity. From my experiencethis tool is easy to use. Readying the torch is fairly easy. Just have to take your time to get the correct torch dont rush. The tool doesn't feel high quality made. But it does have decent quality. It a decent tool for the price. I wish I had a better tool. But this product get the job done if you use carefully.

Not easy to read, not as easy to use as the clickity clack torque wrenches, "not as clumsy or random as a blaster. An elegant weapon... for a more civilized age." I've seen these countless times at the flea markets and garage sales for a buck or two, so was annoyed to have to fork out this much for such a simple tool but it did the job nicely. First day of use, I had to torque an axle nut to 145 lbs (near the tool's max). Thought it'd snap on me, but held up fine. I like being able to watch the needle move, giving a good feel for torque with repeated use in case I ever have to eyeball it in without a torque wrench. The 3/8 adapter is as cheesy as everyone says so I just use my impact adapter for light torquing. However, expecting any 3/8 adapter to survive 70 lbs is asking a bit much. That's what your 1/2" stuff is for.

I've owned several 'click' type torque wrenches over the years, and while some of them worked well, others quickly became useless. First of all, I love the double ended socket attachment option. Does a 'click' type torque wrench have this option? No. This wrench also is easier to use because you do not have to keep setting the wrench to different ft/lbs. values. With a careful eye, you can read the amount of force being placed on the fastener. This is also easier to use because you can swing the wrench both forward and reverse without doing harm to the tool, unlike 'click' type wrenches. The 3/8'' adapter was an awesome piece of hardware to include in the set as well. At first, I didn't think I would use it, until I had to replace the spark plugs. A 1/2" drive socket would have been too bulky to fit in the wells. And remember, the 3/8" adapter is not meant for larger bolts. It's better to err on the side of caution and use a the same sized socket in 1/2" drive. Also be sure to clean up the threads and lube the bolt before installing.Speaking of torquing down large bolts, I've used it when installing head gasket bolts. This wrench has a nice feel and value for the money. In fact, I was so happy with it, I bought one for my father!

Before I get into specifics, I'll strat out by saying I absolutely recommend this. It's accurate to within error, it's well made, and the price is absurdly low. It's not perfect, mind you, but it's a very solid value.Thoughts:1. I have no idea what some of the reviewers are talking about when asking how to use this with 3/8; it comes with a 3/8 attachment, as you can see in my photo.2. Along the lines of my first point, I also have no idea what the the reviews are talking about that say this can't be used both ways or if you use the 3/8 attachment, you can't see the torque readout. That's simply not the case. Whether attaching the 3/8 or using the 1/2, at no time are you forced to read the torque from behind or backward.3. One of the reasons I subtracted a star is because the handle is simply not very comfortable.4. The other reason I subtracted a star is because the torque readout is hard to read due to small print. However, this is a huge torque range so it's understandable. What I did, was simply take a washable marker and mark the spec I needed just a little bolded with a yellow highlighter. Works fine and washes off, if your vision isn't perfect like mine.5. It's accurate. I torque several things and had my uncle verify with his torque wrenches(very accurate and high dollar). It was never more than 2% off.In sum, come on, this is under $20 and accurate; what more could you possibly want? I absolutely resoundingly recommend this.Cheers!

I bought this to tight certain parts of my bicycle (e.g. the bottom bracket and the crank). Without a torque wrench I would not be comfortable doing such things as the torque in these cases are critical. The wrench is very affordable (much cheaper than the ones from Park Tools) and works with the bike tools flawlessly. It has a very long handle so it' easy to tighten/un-tighten connections with high torque. Due to it's size, it wouldn't be useful for low torque applications, which is not what I intend to use anyway. This should be also useful for automobile (e.g. the lug nuts), but I haven't had a chance to do it yet.I don't have a way to check the accuracy of it, but the simple design itself means calibration (to zero) is simple. As long as the design is right, it shouldn't off much.A very useful and affordable tool.
