TOOVEM Cordless Tile Vibration Leveling Machine, for Milwaukee 18V Max Battery, Portable Tiler Vibrator Tool with 8 Adjustable Speed & 5 Inch Suction Cup & Digital Display for Floor, Tile and Wallits been a while since i have done a tile job. i was a remodeler years ago, i have dont all facets of home improvement at some level or another. tile was one of those things i did. when i saw this come across i was like oh yeah. that makes sense. now that i have it. hmm. i am just not sure how i would use it. if you have mixed your thinset right and have a non marking mallet this isnt necessary. now that i see what it does i am just not sure how practical it is. so the idea is it has a suction cup, with an easy reach handle so the suction would be fine for any glazed or polished tile probably wont work on most stone and rough finished surfaces. most of what i recall working with was rough like sandblasted finished stone. maybe styles have advanced since i last did tile work but i recall doing alot of stone stuff--unpolished. anyway, so there is this suction cup. you would grip the tile to be placed, drop it into position then there is a button at an easy thumbs reach from trigger position to vibrate the tile into the thinset. so, what i am wondering is when is it necessary to do this. if i recall correctly when i laid tile you kind of twist it till it is flush with its neighbor. you push too hard and you start getting squeezeout. i dont know i think maybe i would need to watch some videos of this being used in practice to see if it was worth it for the tool bag or not. i mean i see its purpose and maybe it has utility, i am just not sure i am making an excuse for a new piece of kit. as i never needed it before and its not like its a whole lot better than a mallet. i dont know i am not convinced that i would find myself using it more than a few times and being more annoyed with it than anything else. does it have a suction cup. yes. will it work with everything. no it wont. does it vibrate? yes. it has 8 intensity levels. i would imagine level 1 or 2 would be more than adequate unless you are pressing into some curing thinset in which case you probably need to mix more and dump the hardening stuff. i was not a tile installer by trade but i could install tile. i am not sure this is something i would use, but maybe. i dont know. i want it to make life easier and maybe some videos could examine the ways in which that would be true. as of yet i am a little skeptical.

Since I have a large amount of tile work to be completed, as well as a number of DeWalt 20 volt batteries, I thought I would give this a try. Unfortunately, this seems to be designed for large polished tiles or slabs of stone, and not any textured surface units. The suction cup does grip the textured floor tile I tried it on, but not reliably. I suspect that it would be great for one man installation of large polished marble slabs, as a lift and placement assist. The vibration feature would be most useful with settling large heavy units into place. The vacuum head and lever are cast metal, and the level of vibration is variable, shown on the LCD display. A well made, purpose built tool.
