The leather is fairly thick and resistant to being cut by the fletchings, but it is uncomfortable to wear primarily because there are two rivets on the underside of the thumb sleeve and finger sleeve right where they need to bend around the bow. I would not buy this item again and would prefer a soft, sewn shooting glove.

This guard isn't exactly what I hoped. I have a medium to small hand and the finger loops are oversized, and the top guard section raises up to form a kind of hill and throws the arrow off course. The build of the product seems well put together it's just to large. I wish they offered different sizes.

This glove was attractive to me because I needed a cheap way to protect my hand from artificial arrow fletches.I didn't want to overspend because, as a new hobby, I didn't know how interested in it I would be. These fit the bill, and were very well made for the price. I look forward to using them for many archery sessions to come.

One of the rivets sits directly in the middle of the space between your thumb and forefinger. This is where you grip a bow at. For me its not just a matter of getting a callus. I tried this out over the course of two weeks. If I wore it for around 50 shots, my skin would be red an irritated around that rivet. Two days in a row and I would have a bleeding abrasion. Nothing major, but it defeats some of the purpose of the glove. It does protect the top of you hand for shooting off of. I would not buy this product again or encourage others to buy it.

I like that it actually fits my hand as I have very large hands. I have yet to use it though, because I am just getting back into archery and my equipment hasn't arrived yet.

works exactly as intended for me to shoot off hand with my tasi. it is big on me, but doesn't diminish the experience. I just have to adjust it every now and then by pulling it down. no snags or anything since it's really loose on my wrist so if you're having that problem, loosening it up might help.

Have used this for a few months of off the hand shooting. It is nice and thick. If the cuff came a little further down the wrist, I could get it to overlap with my arm guard and avoid the couple times I had my skin pinched on a shot. The finish is wearing down, so I will watch the durability, but so far so good.

Last week when I shot the fletching cut off about 1 square centimeter of skin from the back of my hand. About half my hand was covered in blood. I ordered two hand guards, and this one worked great - I've shot three times since then and I've been able to concentrate on my shooting and my form, rather than the blood. Works, and works well.Beyond that, my girlfriend borrowed it today - her hands are _far_ smaller than mine, and it protected her as well - works for a wide variety of hand sizes.I'm sure if I were more skilled/ had better form, I would need this less. But for now, this was just what I needed. Strongly recommended.

Cheap and efficient. If you use a recurve bow without a place to nock your arrow, you will be resting arrows on your hand. I have been using a Mongolian recurve, shooting on both left and right side of the bow ( western style until I got my thumb ring). This leather guard has held up very well with either style. As you can see in the image, I would hate to imagine what my fingers would have looked like without this. If this ever gets worn down too far I will happily replace it. Good fit and fast shipping too.

This is a very sturdy and efficient glove for "shooting off the hand" with bows that have no arrow rest like many Traditional Longbows and Mongolian or Hungarian style horse bows. The material is very good though a bit stiff when new as leather products tend to be. I am sure it will last for years and years. I do have another glove from another source but this one is very much the superior glove.A word about sizes. Mine is a size large but my hands are extra large. Due to the nature of leather I have stretched it enough to make it work for me. When I first tried it on it was very tight. Now it is a good snug fit. Of course you could have one custom made a bit larger by a leather worker, but it will not be a bit sturdier than this one and you can't beat the price.
