Works well with my Toyota. Knocking off a star because I needed to sign up with an email and connect through the Internet to activate the adapter. It requires a "stable Internet connection" to activate.

The first time I tried to use it, I unlocked the click, and the software every time I disconnect the interface from the PC and reconnect it, it doesn't work, it doesn't connect anymore. I have ordered many products from this brand but it seems to me that it is not what is believed or what is believed, there is a lot of misleading advertising regarding the brand.

I've been a professional automotive technician for about 24 years now and am no stranger to diagnostic equipment for vehicles. I did a side job changing a transmission in a 2015 Silverado for a friend and didn't realize until the day before the job that the TCM needed to be programmed using GM's SPS2 software. Apparently my very expensive Snap-On scan tool can't do as much as I had hoped it would. Anyways, I ordered the R-Link J2534 on Friday evening, had it in my hands Sunday afternoon and the truck was programmed less than an hour later. My only complaint is that the link to GM's software website on the Top Don website didn't allow me to complete purchasing the software so I had to open Chrome and do it from that search engine. Not sure if it was me or TopDon or what. I definitely recommend this tool as long as you find it will work with whatever vehicle manufacturers you need it to work with because it doesn't do "all" of them but it's still a better priced option than a typical J2534.

I like the price point of the j2534. All others are pretty high between 500-900. This one is able to do exactly what I needed. The interface of the topdon software is very simple to use. I was able to bind my tool to my account. Overall it’s an excellent product for what I needed to do, which was to be able to use manufacture software to code some features into my truck.

I needed a J2534 pass through device that would work with GM's programming software. Most options out there are pretty pricey a $1000 or more. I was so happy to find this device, I searched for awhile to find an affordable option. It was simple to set up on my laptop and simple to use. At $300 it is truly a bargain, you get the same functionality as other units that cost 3 times more. I used it for the first time to program a 2007 GMC Yukon, it worked flawlessly. What gave me the most trouble was GM's software, from my experience and what I read about others experiences it is not the best to use. Overall this unit is a great value, it's easy to setup and use. It can be used with a variety of OEM softwares. The price is very affordable. The quality of the unit itself is really good and it comes with a nice storage case. I would definitely recommend.
