This dimmer switch works great to control 15in LED ceiling lights which I've mounted to the hutch on my workbench to provide better lighting. The dimming functionality works smoothly without any noticeable flicker or glitches in the light output. The lights stated they would work with most dimmers and this switch provided an excellent solution. What is especially nice about this switch is that the face-plate is included, which is typically an additional purchase from the bigger brand names. I also like having the slider control along the right side of the switch, where it doesn't interfere with easily turning the lights on and off, but allows for quick and precise adjustment of the brightness. The construction of the switch is above average, with all the ports labeled and color coded screws for the terminals. I'm accustomed to the older style terminals where you wrap the wire around the screw, but with these you insert the wire into the holes and tighten down the screws to make a firm connection. It felt a little weird the first time I tried it, but it worked well. I used 14AWG (this gauge is typically what you find in a house with 20A breakers) solid wire to make a pig-tail for installing this switch into a single gang box. I'd recommend this switch for lighting installations which are compatible with triac dimming control.

Took a long time to come in, but its a very nice dimmer switch once installed. I have a similar one in our kitchen (leviton brand) that is about 10 years old. I installed this new one on our rec room lights, which are 8 "par can" lights with Cree brand LED 60W equivalent LED Trims. We have this installed in a 3-way config, so this was an excellent spot to test this dimmer out.Install went as smoothly as expected. Read the instructions and if not familiar with these types of installs consult an electrician.Functionally the switch works very well. It will dim down to almost nothing, and the dimming action is smooth. The paddle switch works great, and I like that its possible to turn off the LED indicator. Since ours is used in a "home theater" room it was nice to eliminate the LED. For others it might be nice to have it.There is very little delay in turning on the lights, and no flickering. I have not tested this with non-led lights, but it can be configured for traditional incandescent lights if so desired. In our case we like the "tiny slider" with a big paddle switch style. Mostly we just "turn the lights on and off" but its nice to be able to dim them for a movie, or special event. This is also handy if you just want to set it once and forget it - for example if you installed new LED lights in your kitchen and they were TOO bright, you could set this to a dimmer setting and just leave it as a semi-permanent adjustment that no one will feel the need to fiddle with.Good build quality, decent instructions, and works well.

I am going to start by saying I am not a DIY type person. I am the let me look on Google and YouTube, talk to some people and see if I think i can do it kind of person. These are my first DIY switch installs. This probably sounds pretty lame to those who do this sort of thing all the time, but if you are like me and hesitant but willing, this is whom my review is for.My first install is in a dining room that already had a traditional circular dimmer switch. This is the one I had the most issue with because of the old switch, not the new. All the videos and guides suggested that a back install could be popped out with loosening a screw or pushing a screw driver into a slot and popping it out. My switch didn't have that. I had to wind up cutting the wires and striping the new and then attaching them to the screws. The language threw me because this is also a switch that has another switch controlling the same light on the other side of the room and nothing on the old switches, neither, said Hot, Ground or Traveler Wire 1 and 2. So I wound up install this one incorrectly so the switches were not independent, I fixed it. The second hard part here was stripping the wire enough, and keep in mind i didn't know I would wind up needing to strip wires, to make contact and getting them under the screws which felt tight but... it worked. The second issue I had was the primary bedroom switch, and this i wound up installing by inserting the wire which was... easy once I figured out the behind screw option would not work due to the size of the wire. The main thing is though, it worked, and they look nice. Due to light and well, umm, cat hair, it looks like there are scratches and dings where there isn't any, but it's nice.I have another one to do in another room even, but this is my first set, and it went great, especially the second time. By switch three i will be on a roll! If you haven't done it before, you can do it, just be sure to turn off your wires with the breaker, get a headlamp, have a variety of screw heads nearby and give yourself plenty of time. You can do it!

Overall it is a good product. I did not buy the brand name sold in Home Depot which cost significantly more than this one.It does basic functions and works well overall.
