the inclosed paper says +/- 1C which of course is basically somewhere in a range of 5F. I matched this one up with several other temperature references and this one was always off by several degrees F. not sure what the calibration temperature was but certainly not in the normal ambient range which i needed. Perhaps at higher temperatures it is more accurate but i did not test it at higher ranges.

I just this to monitor the temperature of my furnace heat and air conditioning. It works great. The only drawback, and it's a minor one for my application, is that the push buttons are all on the back of the device. It would be better if the push buttons were on the front where they could be easily accessed.

tried to use it to check an oven temperature. About the time the oven reached 325F, I started to smell the melting cable. Removed it immediately. Not sure how this could possibly work at 500F +, as the metal sensor is attached to it's cable by similar (vinyl ?, PVC ?) material as the cable insulation which melted.
