Durable, easy to install and great value. I bought this so my gsp would stop hanging her head over the back seat and drooling all over the seat and/or my passengers. I'm thrilled with it, keeps both dogs contained with plenty of room.

I ordered the product for my daily driver Subaru Outback MY15. Some people complain that instructions are bad..I do not agree..just read them carefully and it is a pretty straight forward job. Took roughly 20 minutes.

Really easy to install, fits the Subaru 2018 outback very well. No vibrating Nosie, very sturdy for not being screwed in. Also allows the seats to still fold down when needed (some other pet barriers don't allow this). Does the job of preventing my 90lb lab from trying to jump over the seats while I am driving! Highly Recommend this product!

This could easily be a 5 star if the included hardware wasn't absolute junk like everyone else has commented on. I thought I'd try anyway after reading all the other reviews. Everything is solidly built except the two pieces that hold everything together which is a crappy screw that is not a standard phillips size. This fits into a propietary plastic nut. The threads on the plastic do not match the screw. Both the screw head and the plastic body stripped. I was able to jerry-rig it with some bolts and washers that luckily fit into the plastic nut but I imagine I won't be able to take it apart again. This is a really stupid design and could easily be remedied with an all metal design.

This fit my 2018 Subaru Outback perfectly. Took about an hour to install, mainly owing to the fact the instructions were somewhat difficult to figure out without words. Better instructions would have gotten this product five stars. Also, make sure you have the right phillips head screw driver because it's really easy to strip the two screws you have to screw in by hand. Once installed though, it fit very well. Also, the rear seats, when reclined all the way, rub against the support poles, so I stuck a little grey foam from the packaging between the bars and the seats to protect the leather. Other than that though this is an excellent pet barrier. Doesn't rattle or make noise, and it looks sharp and fits in well with the styling of the car.

Upgrading from a 2013 to a 2018 Subaru Outback 3.6 r meant I had to give up my Subaru Pet barrier due to the model incompatibilities. The Subaru solution for a 2018 pet barrier was their Cargo barrier that automatically removes close to 20% of the cargo area that my 2 large golden retrievers need to ride comfortably. 1 dog maybe but not two.Went online and found the Travall Guard. It fits like a glove and the grey painted wire mesh matches my grey interior! It took a little bit of trial and error to install but now looks like it is part of the car. The installation is non-invasive so no holes to drill or parts to remove in my new car! Very sturdy and stable. The unit clamps to either side of the wheel well where cargo straps connect behind the back seat. The sides of the unit rest on a three legged affair on the rear window ledge on either side. The round composit heads on the legs mean no marks on the window ledge when tightening the clamps. Plenty of free space to add a rear seat cargo net. In fact the top corners of the net can be attached to the assembly knobs of the Travall Guard for optimal deployment! The Travall Guard does not interfere with the reclining rear seats or to fold the seats down. However, to haul a large item requires disassembly of the unit but that only takes 5 minutes to do (as I found out in the furniture store parking lot).Overall, the Travall Guard exceeds my expectations!

Awesome piece of engineering. After reading so many iffy reviews of other dog barriers, I took a gamble ordering a product that had not yet been rated or reviewed. The gamble paid off. This barrier fits snugly. It does not rattle when driving like other products -- it can't rattle, because there's nothing to rattle. It cannot be pushed or moved. Legs on the sides sit on the sill below the window, beams brace the top of the barrier against the window frame, and rods below hook on the car's floor rings to pull the barrier downward. You turn knobs to control the force with which the barrier is secured. It's not clear from the photo, but the barrier is not braced against the window glass. The whole thing is metal, although surprisingly lightweight. Even the mesh is metal. The color is a medium gray and blends in well with my black interior. On the barrier itself, all edges are smooth and safe for both hands and dogs. The barrier begins maybe 2-inches behind the forward position of the rear seats, which probably isn't a problem for any dog, but the seats in my car recline, so I've closed that gap. There is no way over the top. There just a little bit of room on the sides of the barrier at the window, but the supports make even that space a maze. The only dog I can think of that has any chance of squeezing through would be a tiny dog that's good at jumping and squirming -- maybe a tiny jack russell.I have only one negative thing to say about the product itself. The rods that extend from the bottom of the barrier to the floor rings could conceivably catch a dog wrong and cause the dog minor injury. Also, the hook at the bottom of the rod is clearly rounded to minimize injury to dogs, but it does extend farther upward than I would have preferred, as a dog landing on it could still be injured. In any case, this risk is minor, and it is easily remedied by finding something protective to wrap around the rods. It is not a reason to avoid this product. There was a problem with the packaging. The parts come shrink-wrapped against a cardboard backing. Words on this backing read "Claims for missing items will not be accepted if seal is broken" over and over. Problem is, the seal arrived broken. It look like it had been chewed open. I didn't notice any dogs or squirrels in the box, so I suspect it opened as a result of being banged about during shipment. The plastic wrap itself was pretty thin and flimsy, so it's no surprise to me that it did tear open. Fortunately, none of the parts escaped the wrapping. The box was pretty beaten up, so had any escaped the wrapping they could have fallen out of the box. I don't think the warning on the cardboard backing is fair, given the packaging. The instructions were not as clear as they could have been. They attempt to show assembly without using any words. The hardest pieces to put on require screwing into a tight plastic hole. Despite trying to figure out which way the pieces needed to go, I screwed them on backward and later had to unscrew them and screw them back in again facing the other way. I'm pretty good at spatial manipulation, but it still took a bit of effort for me to infer proper orientations from the drawings. Fortunately, there are only a few parts, and aside from those screws, assembly is rapid, so if you've got it wrong, you should know soon enough.Installation in the car is easy but takes a few minutes. You have to drop the seats, sit the barrier legs on the window sills, attach the supports that brace the barrier against the window frame, hook the rods in the car's floor rings, and tighten the rods. Uninstalling wasn't clear at first. Rather than loosening the hooks to remove them from the floor rings, you have to unscrew the knobs at the top of the rods and drop the rods to the floor. You also have to remove the supports that brace the barrier against the forward window frame. Both installation and removal take a few minutes. I've attached a photo that is clearer than the one included with the product, should you be like me and hesitate over not getting a good view before buying.I was told that the dog barrier available from Subaru had to be bolted in and so required unscrewing bolts to remove. Definitely not for me. Reviews for other barriers I could find complained of rattling, looseness, fragility, insufficient blocking, inability to install in this model (Subaru Outback 2015/2016), etc. This barrier has none of those problems. Glad I took the risk, and this positive review is my grateful thanks to the manufacturer.
