Used this recorder to dub my yoga cassette. It worked fine but the sound quality is a bit iffy.More instructions on using the recorder would have been great!

Yea, this recorder sucks. Bought it to make cassettes from mp3's off of my desk top and the quality of the recordings are in line with what everyone else is saying-pure garbage. Sounds like my air compressor hose had a big leak and got stuck in the background during the recordings. The background noise is almost as loud as the music is. If you need JUST a REALLY BASIC recorder for say interviews or whatnot fine, but if you're going to actually listen to music cassettes that you recorded off of this device, then look elsewhere. I'm returning this. It sucks. Even the cheap ones we had in the 80's sounded better than this. ALMOST completely unusable.

Did not realize that it takes a different type of cassette tape, now I have these tapes that I can not use on this recorder, because it doesn't fit. So that's my main regret. Now I have to go out and purchase new tapes for this recorder.

I use this item to listen to my tapes which I have a lot. on my old unit the sound was with a lot of background noise. The sound is great and the quality is refined. It sits nicely on my desk by my computer so I can enjoy the sounds as well as catch up on my things I do. Thank you for my Tyler cassette/recorder, it is definitely a cost friendly price. It will e in our household for a long time and I can again enjoy the sounds of music in my home.
