Over the years I have accumulated quite a stash of cassette tapes of recorded lessons I've given, as well as lessons by others. But who uses a tape player nowadays? And the issue of portability! This compact recorder is easy to use and the sound quality is excellent. I have done well over 100 cassette tapes since the purchase, and now these recordings are safely archived. I am pleased!

This little device is the most fun I’ve had with music in years. The built-in speaker is a nice touch and works great at low and medium volumes. The record-to-MP3 feature is easy-to-use for backups and records at 160k, 44100 Hz, which is higher quality than similar players on the market. The form factor makes me want to carry it around everywhere. I’ve been listening all day through the speaker, recording stacks of cassettes, and the battery has held up great. I highly recommend this product for those who want try out or relive analog times.By the way, you can just delete the sample MP3s on the included microSD card if you don’t want them to play when you turn off the cassette. I don’t mind this feature and put a different track in the root directory and now it plays instead.Update: I emailed a question to the customer service address on a card in the box. They were fast, friendly, and incredibly helpful. Special thanks to Niki and the whole Jazmm team.

Had a collection of cassettes I had recorded from FM broadcasts 40 years ago that I wanted to digitize. Not being sure they were even playable, I didn't want to spend a fortune on a high-end deck. In truth, I wasn't really expecting much given the price of this unit, but I'm quite impressed with the results. Those who fancy themselves golden-eared audiophiles might find fault but for my purposes, the 160 kb/s mp3 files produced are probably as good as the source material allows.

I returned this product because it would drain the battery overnight when turned off. Also, the battery would drain about 30% while playing a single 30 minute cassette tape. It's possible this is just a defective unit, but there are two other design flaws in the unit that would have caused me to return it anyway.First of all, the unit cannot properly use headphones that have a mic. For example, standard iPhone headphones. They will work only if you unplug them slightly, but this causes a short. I assume that older style headphones would not have this problem, but I don't own any headphones like that.Second, the designers of the unit do not understand the meaning of "stop". If you are playing a tape and you hit the tape stop button, the unit immediately starts playing the SD card if it is inserted. There is a separate button for playing the SD card, so why in the world would a STOP button cause PLAY to happen? This is so annoying and frustrating to have to hit two stop buttons when you are finished playing a tape.So I don't recommend this product.

What a cool product, that does what it says, at a great price! I needed a way to convert some old cassette tapes to digital and came across the Jazmm on Amazon. Can't beat it at the price. Sounds as good as any Walkman of old, and the function to record songs on cassette to the included mini-SD card is very easy. Got it on first shot and the mp3s sound really good. I also have to say that I was impressed with Jazmm's customer service. I had a small problem with the included mini-SD card reader (not the Jazmm or the card itself) and emailed their customer service. They responded same day and resolved the issue right away. I rarely write reviews on Amazon, but was so impressed with this thing, and their customer service, I have to give them kudos. Excited to now convert my old cassettes to digital files!

Seems to be a nice little unit with the ability to create digital files from your old cassettes. The digital files it creates sound pretty good and can be copied over to a computer via USB. Unfortunately the MP3 files it creates won’t play on iPhone natively (it appears to be an issue with the format as other MP3s play just fine). The seller was very proactive and reached out to help.

All my cassettes played a little too fast so voices sounded high, a little like listening to the chipmunks. The recording worked well.Update: The seller contacted me and gave me a refund. While I stand by my review, this was a pleasant surprise!
