Warm Tips
- Confirm the voltage (12VDC) and differentiate positive anode and cathode of the power supply.
- About the wiring between the reader and the controller, the wire should be 22 AWG at least and the length should not exceed 100 meters.
- When external power is used, suggest to use same power GND with controller panel. It is recommended to use multi-strand twisted pair cable to connect card reader to access controller.
- Please don't wire the LED and BEEP wires if ther is no need to prompt light and buzzer feedback.
Wiegand Format
- The standard 26-bit Wiegand format is an open format; it is a widely-used industry standard. Almost all access control systems accept the standard 26-bit format which consists of 2 parity bits, 8-bit facility code, and 16-bit card number fields. The Wiegand interface is commonly used to connect a card swipe mechanism to the rest of an access control system.

This is the second such device that I've purchased from amazon. The look and feel of the UHPPOTE device is pleasing. The two sample rfid cards work with my existing system. So far ( just arrived this morning ) I'm pleased and would consider another purchase of this device. Only jarring note, the device itself was well packaged in it's box, but the envelope that the whole thing was shipped in was torn, and looks like it had been opened. Other than that, pleased with this purchase.

I've had 3 of these in use in an outdoor environment (including winters) for 3+ years now with no issues. Sure they don't support encryption but if you're okay with basic 125KHz cards then this is the reader for you.

Not all readers are made for Wiegand 26 controllers but this one is. Goes green with a positive card read which is nice and what you would expect.-Chase

First off like others have stated it was smaller than expected, that being said it isn't too small. It is definitely not going to win any style awards that being said it does feel sturdy. The keys have a nice tactile click to them and the buzzer is super loud. Honestly the biggest cosmetic problem I have with the unit is the unevenness of the backlight. All that being said it is a value products and I do feel like I got my money's worth. I am using the unit with a Visions controller and all the features work as described. It is able to read 125kHz rfid cards as well as except pin numbers. The functionality will depend on the controller. I did run into a few snags during installation, mixed the wires up for starters once I figureed that out I ended up getting the buzzer stuck on. That was a simple option that I changed in software and now the reservation works exactly as described. Also it lights up green with a card read and with my particular controler does beep twice to notify the door has been unlocked.

Great price, Good RFID reader, keypad's feel & push is solid.Lack of feedback on entry validation. It will only beep when key is pushed or RFID card is swiped. it doesn't return ERROR or invalid access.Users will have to try the door to know if the codes are being enter properly.

While this seems to read non HID cards, the keypad is not standard to prox readers, and should be considered decoration. Can't do card + code as most keypads allow. It took me over Amazons 30 day window to research this and find out that its pretty much useless (since no instructions were included) so I can't return it. Should make a nice addition to the local landfill, as do many made in china products anymore.
