Considering putting a scout scope set up on my M1 Garand to give it a try. Didn't want to invest big bucks in that metal replacement rear hand guard since I doubt I'll be keeping it in that configuration. Thought I'd give this a try since it names the Garand in description and thought I could clamp this to barrel with rear hand guard removed. Unfortunately the only way to make this work would be to also route out a bit of the main stock ( clamp part is almost as wide, but only needs to drop down maybe 1/4 inch)and you would have to use a looong scout scope to bring it back far enough as it would clamp around the main barrel, but not over the chamber area (~ 5 inches in front of receiver is as close as it will go). Looks like it would fit in a carbine stock much better, but I also think you would have to mount it further forward than desired. If you have an old junky stock you are willing to modify then it could be made to work on the garand. Of course you would be mounting a longer scope on a single point aluminum mount with quick detach, so less than ideal to begin with. Just my two cents, hope it helps.
