Any9ne who has been inside the filter dealing with the else kno2s there is no wiggle room and no margin for errors. It either fits or it doesn't. These are perfectly cut and fit easily.

Fit perfectly first time. No adjustments needed. If Pentair is 10/10 then this is probably an 8/10 in terms of how the fabric is cut, but overall it does the job just as good.

It came in a aged yellowish box. Surprised to find it is made in USA. I have to believe it has been in warehouse or on shelf for years since there is a stick stating it was an Open Box item once. I inspected all 8 grids. They look fine. Is UNICEL still made in USA?

Installed a month or so ago. Doing an excellent job keeping pool clean. I have only backwashed 1 time. Less expensive than Hayward....time will tell though. We will see if they last as long.

This is my second set of Unicel grids for my Hayward filter. I have to say that the durability is not quite what I had hoped for on the first set. Unfortunately one of the elements developed holes near the sewed seams on the top. I decided to replace the complete set again. My first set lasted about 5 years, but the OEM filters that were originally installed lasted 10 years. The holes developed because the sewing on these Unicel filters is not quite as good as the originals. But they are much cheaper and they fit well. There is no instructions included on installing the grid elements, but there are lots of great Youtube instructional videos out there. Watch one before you attempt installation.

From the moment I opened the package I knew these were high quality products: they were well constructed and the material used were high grade - almost made me not want to use them for filtering out the dirt in the pool. Originally I was planning to only replace the one broken grid and keep the rest. However, the contrast to the old grids was light and day and it made no sense to just replace one or few old ones so I ended up using all 8 of the new grids. The installation was relatively straightforward on my Hayward Pro-Grid DE6020, since I had experience of taking apart and re-assembling the old grids previously. However, if this is your first time assembling the grids it could be tough. The trick is to assemble everything upside down, i.e. put the manifold upside down on the ground and build the "puzzle" from there. When everything is in place then you flip it back.In terms of performance, again, light and day comparison to the old grids. No more DE leakage and the chronic fast buildup of tiny debris in the pool is now a past. Now I spend less than 10 minutes everyday vacuuming my 20x40 pool, compared to having to do it every a few hours when I had the old grids. Also I can reduce the circulation time to around 5 hours without worrying about growth, since the filtration is so efficient and this reduced the energy use significantly. Although I have only installed the grids for less than 2 months, with the build quality of these grids I'm confident they will last a long time. So I am extremely happy with this product and would rank it one of my top purchases not only for the pool, but for anything related to the house.

This full set of FS-2005) filters replaced all of the filter grids in my Hayward 60" Microclear DE filter and have been performing great since installation. After seeing my filter perform poorly over an extended period (i.e., seeing the jets sending cloudy water back into the pool), I determined that the filter grids were likely to blame. I considered purchasing an entirely new filter from the pool store, a $600-1000 proposition, but could not justify the expense given that the other parts of the system were working fine (i.e., the shell, pressure gauge, and related plumbing). So, I instead purchased a new top manifold (and O-ring) and a new set of grids, altogether totaling about $140-150. These same parts were priced at about $350 retail at my local chain pool store.Upon opening the shell and hosing off the old grids, I immediately saw several large tears and many broken ribs that were the culprit for the poor filtering performance. While the top manifold looked to be ok, I replaced it and the connecting O-ring anyway. A handy Youtube video suggested removing 1 old grid and inserting 1 new grid at a time. This method worked perfectly, and with a little patience, I fit the new manifold back on. After swapping in these new filter grids, the pool is crystal clear. I expect many more years of good filtering from these grids, but will know where to look when I need a replacement.
