In the world of classical music location recording, being able to quickly and precisely change the angle of microphones is important. These things are meant to be used with small cameras but can be easily attached to microphone support hardware for a very effective solution.Only con: single lock knob means azimuth and ball joint are locked or unlocked together, it would be preferable to have separate controls for each. There are similar products that do have that but are bigger and heavier, so there is a tradeoff to be considered.

This is a pretty good ball head with some reservations. The head doesn't have a quick release type mount, So whatever you are attaching has to be screwed on and off each time. It's secure but takes extra time. The tightening knob secures both the ball as well as the swivel base. That means you can have the base turn horizontally (panning) while the ball head is locked down. For many uses, that's ok, but in some situations, it's not as easy to use or adjust.Lastly this is a very small ball head. It's sturdy and can take some weight but not suited for a full sized camera. It's better suited for a microphone, Strobe or light etc.

It's small, light and quality made. Parts are machined and precise.The ¼" screw is true.The knob is easy to reach, tighten and loosen.The slot in the housing allows for true 90⁰ tilt.This is a great mini ball head mount for any small (or larger) tripod that will accommodate a ¼ inch thread.I recommend this product.

Love this mini ball head mount. I threw it on my tiny tripod and it will come in handy when heading out to do some hiking with my photography. Well machined and smooth movement. Light weight, but feels strong. My only complaint is I wish it had a mini bubble level on it. Oh well, that's what post editing is for. Highly recommend.
