I picked this up because we are installing a new automatic double gate, and we need a post for the keypad.The finish is fantastic, the welds are really good, and the hole pattern for the mounting of a keypad should work for most installs.Assembly was managed, though no instructions were included. The base, and the square tubing of the same size, join together with the c-channel bracket, which is installed inside the tube. The top with the keypad plate just slips in and is secured with two screws.That slip in is where a bit of redesign is required. Because this is intended to be used outside, and depicted as such in the listing, it should be built to deal with water. But as it is, water will run down the top portion and into that slip joint. Since there's no weep hole in the base, it will just collect water until it hits the first seem of joined tubes, and then leak out. The inside of the tube is not coated the same as the outside, and this will allow corrosion and dirt to collect and cause future problems.My only other comment is on the height. At max height and mounted on the ground, the keypad plate would be suitable for a low sedan. But if an SUV or pickup pulls up, the driver will have quite a reach to get under the keypad cowl, or may have to open their door just to reach it. One additional extension would have made this adjustable for a happy medium to be found. If using any sort of pedestal to mount on (concrete, brick, etc), this height issue can be compensated for.

Nice unit. However even well packagedThe paint is flaked off in multiple areas.Some of the bolts dont fit into the holes they are supposed to.And one hole was stripped out of the box.Overall this would be a 5 star product if all of these problems did not exist.
