I got these hat stretcher to help with and old straw hat that shrunk after a long winter break. The wood is very good quality and the rubber banding keeps the shape. It was able to stretch my straw hat and I plan to fit it to my felt hat so it doesn't stretch during the summer months.

Performs as expected. Well constructed; quality fit and finish. Works well for my application; create a little more room in my Campaign Hat.

I can finally wear my hat that shrunk slightly over the years. I out this in and slowly expanded it over a week or so and it now feels perfect.

Just like advertised. It works, and is worth the money. I own and wear 14 different hats in different styles and this stretcher comes in handy.

This hat stretcher works as advertised. I does spread out in all directions nicely. The first time I tried to turn the center adjustment bar, one of the little grip bars sticking out of it fell right off. I stuck it back in and pressed hard on it and it hasn't come back out yet, but not a great sign of overall quality. There is a large rubber band wrapped around the outside of the stretcher and this keeps pressure on the parts so that they will retract when you loosen it to remove the stretcher from the hat. I wouldn't expect this rubber band to last more than a y ear or two before requiring replacement. Still a useful item and better than other hat stretchers I've uses that only stretch front to back.

I never do something like this even existed, but I'm pretty glad it does. I've got this non-adjustable hat that I have kept for 15 years because of the importance of the event that I bought it from, but it's always given me a headache whenever I wear it because it slightly too tight. This is an easy way to fix that! No instruction manual needed: just turn the crank onee way or the other to loosen or tighten the amount of stretch. The only thing I consider an imperfection is that there are no "brakes" to stop you from turning beyond the length of the threaded bolt at the heart of this tool, so you can unscrew it to the point that it actually falls apart and then you have to start over. But once you know that there is such a thing as too far, I suspect it will be the last time that problem arises.
