Well made and perfect fit for the job. We needed this to fit a plunge router used to carve a recess in wood that would accommodate a butterfly stitch. I know that may sound strange, but if it doesn't, hopefully the five star review will help.

Works okay. The rubber gasket that holds the bushing on fell apart the second time I took the bushing off but it works still just have to make sure the bushing doesn’t fall off

This solid brass router inlay kit 9500 comes with a bushing, collar, centering pin, and a router bit. The threading on both the bushing and collar pieces is smooth and operates well. The brass surface quality is fairly good. The centering pin is as it should be. The router bit is sharp and produced clean cuts on the various hardwoods I tried it on. Be aware there are no instructions included, but I have used an inlay kit before and did not have any problems. But if one has not used an inlay kit before, please look up instructions or videos online on how to use this kit. Add a template to this setup and one is ready for a lot of inlay work.

Using this inlay kit couldn't be easier. I tested it with simple patterns and it worked perfectly. Now I can put cool inlays in cutting boards.....or really anything. Little tools like this make a big impact on your woodworking. Definitely recommend!

You’ll need some templates to go along with this but you have everything else you need. Don’t skip centering. This won’t work at all unless you center it. If you need instruction just go on YouTube. There are a million good instructional videos for using a kit like this and tons of stores for getting templates

This is a great little kit and has everything you need to start making inlays. There are no instructions with the kit, but there are plenty of videos online of people using the same style kit. Overall, it's easy to use... but this is definitely one of those things you need to get a feel for so plan to spend some time playing in some scrap pine first.Start with a simple template. I didn't have any on hand so I made a simple bow tie out of some 1/4" ply that I cut out on my scroll saw. It worked for testing but the inlay shows every imperfection of the template so worth it to buy a template with nice smooth edges. The collar that surrounds the bushing is a little stubborn the first time, but just work a thin piece of plastic under there and you'll be able to get it off. Helpful if you can lift both sides at once or work one side and then the other.I've only done a couple so far, but the bushing ratios seem to be exactly right and my test piece created a good fit. I built a jig for my bandsaw to hold the workpiece with the inlay design cut out so I could extract the bowties from the board I carved them in--again, videos give some good options for that. Oh, and double sided tape is also super helpful. I did my testing using clamps, but double sided tape on a flat stable surface would definitely make this process easier.
