I've used many various types of these over the year's.. I must say this one isn't quite like any other I've used, most are a standard chainsaws blade. This one is probably about half the thickness tho. Less durable, but strong enough and half the weight wich is great for backpacking!Comes with a convenient molle pouch to store it in wich is better than most I've used, they commonly come with a plastic cover that's prone to getting cut over time. The handle being polly cord is also unique an if needed very helpful, in an emergency you can disassemble the cord. Leaving you with the outer cover wich has a 200ib break strength and the 5 inner cords wich have 50ib break strength, you could easily use a short section of the outer layer to make a lower quality handle. You should have enough leftover for an emergency tourniquet, fishing line, lashings for a small shelter and a little to spare. These blades aren't exactly the fastest to use, but they will get it done with plenty of effort.Compared to the wire versions these are amazing, not as efficient as a folding hand saw. But they work in a pinch and take up less space.Do not use this to climb trees tho, it's not really strong enough for that and will only get weaker in time. It's also damaging for the tree.

This manual chainsaw is a good addition if your out in the woods with nothing else but...With so few teeth you will wear yourself down pretty quick. Don't get me wrong it will cut but it takes a while. Also with the amount of teeth on it I believe it will wear down pretty quickly as each run will hit 2 or 3 teeth one way even with the chain being as good quality as it is. The carrying pouch is heavy canvas and durable. Overall I believe there's better out there as far as the chain goes.

I got this because I thought it would make a nice addition to a bug out bag or emergency kit. It is light weight and easy to carry around. It comes with a sheath that is easy to hook onto a belt or backpack. The chain is basically a chainsaw chain. I’ll admit that I was a little bet hesitant about how well I would be able to use it (I am a forty something woman who does work out but not a ton) and I was pleasantly surprised.I first tried it on some small branches and it was kind of a struggle but then I realized that I would never actually use it on that size of branch because I could break them by hand. So I decided to bump it up and tried it in a branch that fell about 2 weeks ago. It was approximately the diameter of a large grapefruit. It actually was easier to use on a larger piece of wood than the small ones i had previously attempted. I sawed through it a less than 2 minutes with no problems. What a workout though! Using this thing definitely gets the blood pumping. To sum things up, I was pleasantly surprised at how easily this is to use. It does require some strengths and stamina but I would recommend it. It is very portable and much lighter than carrying around a hatchet.

If weight isn't an object, this thing is great for camping. I'm not sure about usefulness around the house, but for kayak camping, this thing was great! My buddy and I were on a small island in the Pacific Northwest, and we needed some wood for a fire. There was a lot of dry driftwood about, but it was logs that had been washed ashore, and dried by the sun over time. Diameter was about 12".In the space of about 30 minutes, we were able to saw through the flotsam not once, not twice, but thrice! We had three perfect sized logs for the fire pit. Note: we were camping at a campground for human powered craft, fire pits were built by the parks department, and no ban was in place. This thing is super handy, and I'll bring it along next time we kayak camp. I doubt I'll take it with me when I do some serious backpacking, since it's pretty heavy. But where I don't have to worry about weight, it's great.I'm not sure I'd tackle a big project singlehandedly. Having two people to saw back and forth was definitely the key to success, but I suppose you could operate it alone. If you're a pepper, this could make for a nice addition to a bug-out bag.

This portable camping saw sets a new standard for what one can expect from wire-based saws, particularly in terms of durability and cutting power. Unlike its counterparts, this tool allows you to apply significant pressure without the constant worry of breaking the wire—a testament to its robust construction. The operation of this handheld saw relies on the user's own movement, enabling a cutting speed that matches your energy and pace. Its design incorporates chainsaw teeth set in an alternating pattern, a thoughtful feature that ensures efficient material removal with each movement. This dual-action cutting mechanism is a significant upgrade over traditional wire saws, which typically cut in only one direction, leading to wasted effort on the return stroke. The efficiency and strength of this portable saw make it an indispensable tool for camping and outdoor adventures. It promises not just to meet but to exceed the expectations of those accustomed to the limitations of wire-based saws, offering a level of performance that closely rivals that of an actual chainsaw, all while fitting snugly in your pocket.
