Our grab hooks are designed to "grab" to keep a chain from slipping off the hook, and has a cradle to make it easy to attach to chain links with no other hardware. The cradle also helps fastens the hook to a bracket or chain without it being permanent. Because of their narrow throat, they are effective at holding chain - making them useful for securement, hauling, towing, and recovery jobs. The saddle is wider on grab hooks to also support the chain links better. The forged hooks are made of grade 70 forged alloy steel, then painted to withstand the elements. It has a working load limit of 6,600 pounds and assembly break strength of 26,400 lbs., and is forged and stamped clearly with chain size and chain grade information to meet DOT and FMCSA requirements. I don't have a way of proof testing these hooks they appear to be well made. I am confident they will hold their rated load. They fit my 3/8" chain and work well. The plating is well done and should provide more than enough corrosion protection.
