About this item

  • 1/4" NPT (USA National Pipe Thread)- Commonly used standard pipe thread in U.S..
  • SOLID BRASS- This valve's body is made of solid brass (very corrosion resistant material).
  • UNIDIRECTIONAL- The arrow indicates the flow direction (horizontal mounting please).
  • DIRECT ACTING and NORMALLY CLOSED- The solenoid’s magnetic field with directly moves the plunger and close the orifice for any fluid or gas flow. Only opens while energized.
  • VITON GASKET- Viton is a space age material that is very chemically inert. As such, it is commonly used with gasoline, kerosine and other organic solvents. Some companies sell solenoid valves with NBR gasket and advertise gasoline use. DO NOT USE NBR gasket for gasoline (it will corrode the gasket and can cause serious gasoline leak and accident or fire). If you intend on using a valve for gasoline, use only VITON gasket.

Product Description

solenoid valve

Applications

Solenoid valves are versatile components used to control the flow of fluids and gases in a wide range of industries and applications. They are essential in fluid and gas control systems, irrigation, home appliances, automotive systems, industrial settings, medical devices, and HVAC systems.

CA PROP65 WARNING - This product can expose you to chemicals including lead, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. They are not allowed by federal law to be installed for potable water use in the U.S.A. and its territories.

U.S. Solid 1/4" Brass Electric Solenoid Valve 12V DC Normally Closed VITON Air Water Oil Fuel

U.S. Solid normally closed (N/C) electric solenoid valve is constructed with a durable brass body. Suitable for use with hot or cold water, natural gas, and air. Customers chose this general-purpose valve for supplemental gas tanks, sprinkler systems, and more.

After-sales service - Amazon.com Voluntary 30-day Return Policy: You can return many items you have purchased within 30 days following delivery of the item to you. Our Voluntary 30-day Return does not affect your legal right of withdrawal in any way. You can find out more about the exceptions and conditions here.

OVERHEATING WARNING: Not designed for continuous operation(not a 100% duty cycle). While energized, under normal operating conditions, the solenoid valve will get HOT. The coil will reach a maximum temperature of about 176°F (80℃), which is fully complied with national standard: JB/T7352-2010. If energized continuously for more than 8 hours the coil may burn.

Difference between IP65 and IP67

IP65 and IP67 are ratings for dust and water resistance. IP65 means the device is dustproof and can withstand water jets, but not immersion. On the other hand, an IP67 device is fully dust-tight and can be submerged in water up to 1 meter deep, providing more robust protection.

"Normally Closed" (NC) and "Normally Open" (NO) are terms used to describe the default state of a solenoid valve when it is not energized.

  • In a Normally Closed (NC) solenoid valve, the valve is closed when there is no electrical power applied to the solenoid. It opens when power is supplied, allowing the flow of fluid or gas (refer to Picture 1).
  • Conversely, in a Normally Open (NO) solenoid valve, the valve is open when there is no electrical power applied. It closes when power is supplied, blocking the flow of fluid or gas(refer to Picture 2).

I purchased this to close a line to an auxiliary fuel tank, when not transferring fuel, and it works perfectly for that. I would recommend using a relay with this, to prevent excess current problems. This valve is well made from solid brass, and has the correct Viton seal for gasoline or other fuels. With a normally closed state, it's perfect to use with small transfer pumps, and will prevent accidental siphoning or leakage from an auxiliary tank. There are a few differences between this valve and some competing valves. First is that this one doesn't come with any pre-installed pigtails or wires. You must provide the wire and correctly connect that to the terminal block. Second is that this doesn't come with any hose nipples. You will have to buy your own brass fittings from the hardware store. Third is that it doesn't come with an easy or convenient way to mount the valve. It has two tapped fine-thread metric fitments on the valve body, but you will have to supply your own fasteners, along with a right-angle bracket to mount it with. However aside from these things, the basic quality of the part is excellent, and it should last a lifetime.

It came without any wires or any accessible points to connect wires, no scheme of wiring too. I had to guess and solve the puzzleUPDATE: After 5 months of usage and about after ~30 on-off cycles it is completely DEAD now. It was installed after water filter to protect from any water impurities.UPDATE: Immediate no-question refund has been promised upon contacting the seller about this item stopped working on its 5th months of service. 5 stars to seller, 1 star to the product hence I update this rating to 3 stars as a mid point between 5 and 1
