Son wanted to replace factory head unit with an LTE capable tablet. After running engine battery down, devised a seperate battery pack (think diy power bank) that charges when b engine running. Used these adapter boards to create a port tablet plugs into. So far, have pulled 2.5Amps @ 5.25vdc without issue. Recommend install into metal case with shielded cable, or at least twisted pair wire to avoid introducing electrical noise. Is not a strike against adapter, just a build tip.

These are great. I used them to supply power to some usb cables.

I have four Wyze Cam V3 cameras and while they include a power block and cable, they don't provide a long enough cable unless you have an outlet VERY close to where you are mounting them. I installed them around the outside of my house under the eaves and used these adapters along with some old and not very good CAT 5 network cable to create extension cords to run up to the devices. So far, everything has been working well and you can get a fairly long length of cable before the voltage drop off is enough to impact these cameras. I did, however, have to double up the wires in the cable to get to some of the longer length locations but went ahead and doubled them up even on the shorter runs as well. So, this means you can effectively run two USB ports per run of CAT 5. I provided a picture of one plugged into a USB tester on the supply side. It's raining outside or I might have climbed up and did the same on the device side to show the voltage drop, but it's enough to keep the camera running stable. The adapters themselves are well made and come in a block that you snap apart. The screw down terminals are well made and hold the wires in place without any issues. There isn't much to them, but they have held up well so far and did exactly what I hoped they would!

These boards are fairly compact (you could even make it slightly smaller if you don't need the screw holes) and include the necessary resistors to support C-C charging which is a huge positive as there's no need to buy resistors nor solder any additional components.

I decided that I am so done with soldering the actual USB parts with .25 mm pins. These use standard .1 in headers, so projects are a snap.

Needed to make a super short USB-A to USB-A and it seems to do the job just fine. Can confirm I was able to transfer files off my Hard Drive with the cable I made from these ports :)

I like that these have the through holes labeled clearly on both sides.Mine arrived in several panels with grooves cut so I had to break the individual boards apart.I tested each unit, and they all triggered my USB C PD power bank to deliver 5V without issue.I measured each CC resistor. They are marked 512 (5100 ohms). The worst out measured 5.125K, and 5.060K. These are within 1% tolerance, not that it particularly matters for the CC line application, but it's nice to get parts with good tolerance. The USB C connector seems an OK type. It has a fairly blunt contact wafer (I usually like them to have a slight bevel to help the pins slide over when a cable is inserted). In use it doesn't require excess force to attach a cable. The cables click in place well, and are retained fine. These aren't the smallest USB C breakout boards, but they're convenient with the 0.1" through holes, and two mounting holes. I measured the PCB dimension as 21.55 x 12.7 x 1.6 mm. The USB C port sticks out 1.4-1.5mm past the board edge (some slight variance). The mounting holes are about 3.2-3.3mm diameter, and approximately 16.5mm apart center to center.
