I couldn’t get it to work.

Having grown up in the late 80’s and mostly 90’s, I have a HUGE arsenal of cassette tapes with some of my favorite music on them AND the memories associated with them. So, needless to say, I could NOT be rid of them and still have them stored in several large cassette holders. And though cassette players are still out there and available to purchase to listen to these great albums, they are fewer and far between. And not always easy to get your hands on. So when I saw this awesome little invention, with its ability to not only listen to my old cassette's PORTABLY, but also to be used to convert and save them in other more widely used and available formats. Brilliant! I am super happy with this. It’s made REALLY well and is nice and durable. An easy 5 star recommendation from me.

Item reviewed: USB Cassette Converter MP3 - Convert Audio Cassette Tape to Digital MP3 FilesDate reviewed: July 20, 2024You'll need to download some freeware to get the files from your cassettes to your PC. The software recommended is Audacity. It works pretty easily. This is a great way to get your cassettes in digital form. Cassettes don't last forever!

I have to send it back because I can't figure out how to use it. The directions are very unclear.

You can not only use it as a cassette player but also you can convert music with this as well. Great sound quality and easy to operate.

I have a lot of music on old cassettes that I need to preserve as digital files. It's cumbersome to hook up the old cassette deck from the stereo system to my computer, so I have been looking for an easier way. While this little converter is not without its flaws, its small size and portability makes it a decent choice to convert tapes to MP3 files. One has to download the Audacity software (free) which, once set up, is fairly intuitive to use. The one thing I don't like is the clear case. The markings on the various buttons (play, FF, stop, etc.) are molded into the plastic and are hard to read. Now I have memorized which is which, but at the beginning I had a hard time distinguishing them. I also found the instruction sheet included with the converter in type that was too tiny for my aging eyes. To look at one illustration I had to use a magnifying glass. Nevertheless, I am glad I got this. It's not a fast process to convert and then label a lot of tracks into MP3 files, but this converter does its part and for the money is a good buy. I have not used it as a Walkman-type player, but it should do that fine, since that is a fairly straightforward process for a little tape player like this.

No instructions in the package. The video instructions don't match up at all with how Mac desktops work. Maybe next time, give instructions in the package, use a video that features modern software, and you won't get so many 1-star reviews and returns.Worse, it ate an important cassette tape of mine!
