This was very easy to install. However you can’t leave it plugged in as it gets extremely hot. Might be better for just short term use.

Didn’t work for my application. Not their fault. It was mine.

Super easy to use once you download the software nead. It comes with step-by-step instructions that even my not-so tech savvy brain could follow. It works like a charm and was reasonably priced.

I have an old 27" VGA color monitor for viewing simple work websites, no complicated video an motion. I rate the resolution clarity at 96%. It is not as clear through my PC USB versus the HDMI, but I do not need perfection for video watching or editing. I don't want to buy a new screen or a fancy adapter. For this little money, it works great. Don't expect true resolution of an HDMI port with USB port driver. Using this saves at least $120, since you can keep an old VGA monitor with a VGA out.

Solid metal enclosure. I was a little concerned about the driver since it came on a CD, but you follow the link on the first page of the manual. It passed the VirusTotal test, so the driver is safe.UPDATE: Died 1 week later -- it stopped working and adapter was uncomfortably hot to th touch. Same problem on 2 monitor types and different cables. Not recommended.Update 2: I purchased the "Startech USB 3.0 to Dual HDMI Adapter" and it works great. Insignia/BB also makes a clone product that uses the same driver.

While it isn't plug and play (since you do have to install a driver), it's definitely worth the additional step. Just follow the instructions to install the driver (I used the on-line method). I'm using it on a Microsoft Surface Go on a docking adapter. Works great. Highly recommended.

The adaptor comes with a CD-ROM to install the driver, but I bought this to use with a striped-down laptop that had neither an HDMI port or CD-ROM drive, so I was happy to see that they provided the URL for downloading the driver from their site. I downloaded and installed, then plugged the adaptor in to connect a monitor and everything worked perfectly. I can recommend this adaptor for anyone who needs to connect a monitor via USB.
