Fully functional adaptor that can also be reprogrammed with the FTDI software. I have used this to wotk with Victron Energy products to interface between the Cerbo module and power meters. No compatibility issues and if required, can be flashed so the correct "type" of device is then detected and used by the Cerbo without any problem.The small connector is a little flimsy and you have to use a correctly-sized flat screwdriver. But it does mean the whole adaptor is very compact.

I needed to connect a Victron Cerbo gx to an ET112 electricity meter using Cat 5 cable. Worked immediately. Much cheaper than the RS485 cable from Victron.

I was a little concern about the + and - Labeling being swapped, but, once I hooked it up and plugged, My computer loaded the drivers on it's own and we were up and communicating .

I just needed some RS-485 drivers, and wanted the flexibility and security of screw down terminals. I just blanked on how small this one is compared to other serial ports I've used, the screws being just a bit smaller than on my spectacles - so be warned, jewelers screwdrivers or "iFixit" kit to hand is probably a good idea.As with everyone else, a quick pin out guide on the credit card sized instructions that came with this would be great, but I'd already seen full instructions on Amazon.Finally, I bought 2 and one was slightly bent in shipping. It straightened out okay, and passed a loopback test, but I would like a slightly more stable mount, an extra 1-2mm on the PCB would have supported it, and the bending would not have happened.And tell tale LEDs, lovely! A quick idiot light check is really helpful.

Works fine, small form factor is great. But there was no documentation and no markings on the screw terminals, so had to go to Amazon and look at the product photos to figure out the pinouts for connecting to a network. Would really help to have a label on the housing or a card with a diagram in the packaging.
