Most newer laptops especially the MacBooks no longer provide USB-A ports. These adapters come in a pack of 2 -- they allow you to connect older devices such as mouse, keyboard, thumbdrive, speakers, etc that come with USB-A connectors, to newer laptops that only have USB-C ports. Serves the purpose, nothing fancy.
