The description said 5mm threads, then M6 in a different section. Just include a cheap M6 bolt if you're not going to make it very obvious what size the threads are.¼" threads would have been way more useful as I feel like everyone has a million fasteners laying around that are ¼".

I used a force gauge to perform some testing. The magnets do hold 200N pretty well. Make sure you take into account what type of metal you are sticking to, the thickness and the surface finish. My test fixture was a 9mm piece of machined steel, so it was best scenario. This is true for all electromagnets. You also need to account for any coatings on the metal. Paint or powder coat can even make a difference.

After getting this electromagnet I decided to do some test results to figure out if this magnet can work for a project I am making. I used a hanging weight scale for the tests. One other thing I want to note is I had the magnet connected to the anvil on my vice. It's very important to have a flat metal surface to ensure the electromagnet has a strong connection to the surface it's attached to. If you don't have a really flat surface you will get poor results.Electrical Consumption: 12.4VDC @ ~.45AStrength Test:Holding Force: I was able to pull to about 32lbs +-.5lb consistently (before I pulled the magnet straight off) which is equals about 150NPeak Force: I was only able to get it up to 40.2lbs one time before it pulled off. This equals about 200NResults: Overall I am very happy with this magnet so far it seems to be very accurate to the rating the manufacturer has said.

This magnet is very weak. The only way it is some what strong is if you put a piece of 1 inch thick carbon steel right onto it. With thin metal it has very little effect
