The install was relatively easy…I’ve been an auto tech for many years and have replaced many compressors and clutch/coils over the years.The proper gap was set and measured and everything worked great for approx 30-45 min and then smoke started coming from the coil and it melted itself down.

My son purchased this part for me through Amazon.The part fits great.The problem came when I started up my vehicle and within 10 minutes the A/C clutch started smoking. I turned off the A/C and the smoking stopped. The only issue was that the A/C was still working. After several hours of trying to figure out what was causing this I came here to see if I had the right part. I do. When I was looking at the photos through, I noticed the picture that shows the washer that I hadn't removed from the removal of the original A/C clutch is a required spacer. Now I am sitting here waiting for the engine compartment to cool down so I can install that washer which is actually a spacer before I burn up the new A/C clutch..This wouldn't have been a big deal if I was sitting at home. I travel for work and I'm a 2 day drive from home in temperatures that are going to be above 100° F.

This is a great clutch for the money and same as factory at a lower price. Replacing the clutch is not an easy task! The clutch is hard to see because the radiator hose is in the way on my 2016 Wrangler JKU, and I wasn’t about to drain the coolant for a AC clutch replacement.The factory bolt holding the clutch hub is only a 8mm and soft. Had to use one of those sockets that cut into the bolt head and a good amount of heat with a heat gun to get it out.Only other thing because it’s hard to see the clutch in my case, was the snap ring on the hub shaft. Had to use a mechanic mirror to see as I seated the snap ring.The New clutch also comes with a 10mm bolt that is of course not only bigger , but also stronger. Also make sure you have the factory spec gap setting of .006 by saving the washer shims from the old factory clutch. And then adding or removing a shim to get a good measurement. Then when you have that. Add a little drop of Blue loctite and toque the bolt to 115 Inch pounds, DONE.

Todo está bien excepto que el proveedor borró con las marcas del rodamiento y del reten del embrague. Es importante para uno saber que marca de rodamiento es para tener certeza que lo que está instalando no irá a fallar pronto. Si él los borró seguro es porque son rodamientos de muy mala calidad. Por lo tanto voy a reemplazar el rodamiento de la polea por un Nachi japonés.

I really didn’t want to change the compressor on my 14 Jeep wrangler just because the clutch wore out. This is the solution for that. Saved about 150 bucks and didn’t have to reclaim and recharge the system.
