Your cart is empty. A Rivet Nut fastener is a tubular rivet with internal threads.
It requires a tool or device to install in seconds form one side of the work. Once installed, no finishing work is required.
The added benefit of not only being a fastener, they are ready to use with clean threads available for screw attachments.
The material is too thin to machine the thread.
Blind Rivet Nuts also are used when an application has little or no access to the backside as they can be installed from the front side of the work piece.

These are essential when building a car or truck.Self tappers are a thing of the past, they look junky and won’t hold like these will. I didn’t investigate holding strength but they look thicker and perhaps stronger than the mild steel ones.

I used this and torqued the bolt to 30 ft pounds. The nut held and has been in service for almost a month.

These are exactly the same insert nuts that are used in Kiteboards and hydrofoil boards at less than half the price than others being sold. They do the job, well built. Don’t pay more for over priced ones, get these!
