  • Suitable for processing through holes or shallow holes on most metals, iron plate, copper, zinc, alloy steel, abrasive steel, A3 steel, stainless steel, etc.. Add appropriate tapping oil for higher quality internal threads and more durable taps.
  • Straight flute design, rapid downward chip removal for efficient threading, clear threads without burrs, right hand tapping direction. Good for processing through holes or shallow holes
  • Machine taps used with drilling machines, tapping machines, automatic machines, machining centers, CNC, milling machines, not recommended for hand and electric drill tapping. Recommended feed speed: ordinary steel: 6-15m/min; harder steel material: 5-10m/min; stainless steel: 2-7m/min; cast iron: 8-10m/min.

They're not fantabulous but they will do the trick if you know the proper way to use a tap and breaking chips often.

Would only use to clean up existing holes, cheap quality, big difference between these and craftsman, Kobalt ect.. you get what you pay for

Thread pitch is not marked on the taps, but they are what I ordered 8x1.25.Made a good thread in mild steel.

Broken one of them. Taps and extractors are pretty brittle. Use proper cutting oil and go slow.

Only needed to used them once. Never ran into 8mm-1.0 nuts. These were welded on a mounting plate on my tractor where I was going to add additional flood lights. Surprisingly the nuts were rusted and needed to run the tap through them. Anyway, a little lube on the tape and recut the threads. Worked like a charm.

Bought these to tap out the holes in a harmonic balancer on a V6 engine to be able to screw bolts into the holes to pull it off the crankshaft. Worked as they should.
