I ordered and used this kit to rebuild my MS250's OEM carb (Zama). This kit turned out to be exactly what I needed. I rebuilt the carb yesterday, installed it today, retuned my saw and made a fine test cut. Throttle response and sustained power are restored. If you're unsure if your carb is the issue, here's what I went through. My saw had been running great last summer but started to die periodically and in the last week or two, started to bog but would come up to full throttle if I feathered it, then ultimately would not idle at all. I cleaned the carb and reinstalled it after changing out the fuel line and filter and it helped but I couldn't get it to idle long enough to re-tune. Note: there was debris in the carb when I cleaned it so I had thought I'd made headway. I tore it down again, inspected and cleaned both the impulse line and intake boot (both appeared to be adequately supple and intact). I tore the carb apart again to re-clean it and this time no debris and all looked fine; the diaphragm seemed like it would have another year or two left in it and the gaskets were all intact. Regardless, the carb was the likely culprit but I wasn't ready to spend $30 on a new Zama unit and have had terrible results with aftermarket carbs on leaf blowers in the past, so for $7 or $8, whatever it was, I gave this kit a shot. The carb rebuild was straightforward although I didn't tear into the carb beyond replacing the diaphragm, gaskets and needle assembly. The small screen looked clean enough but I replaced it anyway as a new screen was included. The needle I replaced did appear to have wear on the tip but I have no idea if this was the issue or not. This seems to be money well spent but I will try to remember to update my review this spring after doing some more cutting.

Bought an old neglected MS250. Got it to start, fixed some odds and ends, changed the bar and chain, opened up the muffler. Always had an erratic idle but ran good wide open. I called it good enough and it sat for a couple of weeks with out starting. Went to fire it up... It fired but would not stay on. I figured the carb was toast. Previous owner probably left bad ethanol gas in it. Ethanol is the worst for small engines I always run non ethanol. Ordered up this kit and all the replacement part were correct. Took my time cleaning the carb out and replacing the parts. It fired up in about 4-5 pulls. Only took about a couple of minutes to adjust the idle speed and mixture screws. It's a real screamer now! Can wait to run it in some wood
