The F998 Professional Audio Mixer is a feature-rich sound board for aspiring creators. A gf and I want to start a podcast. This was available and I thought I'd give it a try to learn what we're doing. Immediately, I realized this wasn't going to work. But only because we have XLR mics. I was surprised how small it is, but it packs a punch. My cousin's kids are active gamers. They're having a ball with it. This makes me super happy. I love anything that gives kids a spark of creativity. It's less than $20 for crying out loud. You can't go wrong with this little mixer. 10/10

The V8S is simple to use and does the job. It comes with a voice changer, mixer, and sound card, so it’s all-in-one. It works well with my laptop and can be used for gaming or streaming. The audio mixer lets you adjust your sound easily. It’s a good option if you're looking for something practical and easy.

If it wasn’t clear from the descriptions, you cannot use a Bluetooth mic, you need a wired mic.Other than that, this is such a fun little board for budding YouTubers or DJs who can cut their teeth on recording, mixing (adding sound effects, do some voice changing), while your playing audio (from a smartphone or computer connected via Bluetooth).I personally like the Eliminate button - which essentially filters out voices. So if you have a song… you now have a Karaoke background. At first I thought I was listening to a new cut of the song that had a new extended instrumentals. Then I realized I could remove the voices from the track, at will. It will remove all voices… to include the backup vocals… so be aware. But if you want your kid (budding sound engineers) to understand layering tracks, this is an awesome tool. You get to hear the subtle instrumentals that you wouldn’t otherwise notice.Did I say good for Karaoke?! 💕I mean, for $20? Why not!?

I'm not musician enough to really judge this item but I can say that everything works as it should. My musician friends tell me I got a good deal and I'll take their word for that while I have fun playing with sound.

First impressions can mean a lot and the first thing you will see is a poorly designed box with improper information. Fortunately the box doesn’t determine the quality in this circumstance and this is actually a pretty good audio mixer. It’s simple to use and rechargeable with Bluetooth so you can easily podcast on the go. It’s also good for a wired PC gaming audio setup with up to two microphones and one headphone but you can use the monitor as an extra headphone if you need to. I had very little trouble getting it connected in either of those situations and it provided very good sound quality with several extra sound options and settings. The unit itself is a nice ferrous metal body and has very good feeling knobs with appropriate resistance and it has plenty of interesting and fun features like sound effects and voice changers. Once you learn how to use everything it’s very intuitive but it may have a learning curve especially for kids. Bluetooth was simple to connect and everything seems to work just fine so I have to consider this an excellent value. I can easily recommend this to amateur podcaster just starting out or gamers that want to stream and add a little extra quality and professionalism.

First, I will point out that I got the V8S model, which is black and simpler than the only version I currently see listed, so that's what my review is about and the white model I currently see displayed for this product (F998) may be entirely different.In case they offer the V8S again, or you see another one in listings, here's my quick review. Basically, I see some of these at super cheap prices (less than $20) and at that point, this is an impressive toy/gadget. It's a very affordable entry point to give you a handful of nice features that might be hard to do without dedicated hardware or a ton of post-processing. But I would not trust it for anything live or where quality is important.I would normally advise that users read the manual, but the manual offers limited explanation beyond what is obvious from the labels, which is a problem because not all labels are self-explanatory. (And the "Elimination" button at the left side of the bottom row is almost unreadable.) It does offer a little help for how to rig a few different configurations based on your needs so it is helpful for that.For my test setup, I attached headphones to the "headset" port, a phone playing pandora to the "Accompany" port, and a microphone with a 3.5mm jack to the "Condenser mic 1" port.I like that the unit has a built in battery. That's one less cord to connect, and would make this nice in a portable setup if you are recording/broadcasting on the go.There are "level" indicators for microphone, accompany, and monitor output. Each one has 6 leds, so they are far from precise, but they're enough to show roughly where the signal is hitting, if you're too loud or quiet.I played around with different settings. The sounds effects are not great, but they exist. Same with the voice changer. They're fun to play with a couple of times, but I can't imagine working them into something I wanted to present to other people.The karaoke feature/voice elimination seems to work pretty well. I played a song with some choir background vocals, and a solo singer, and it took out a lot of the solo and left most of the choir, which would be good for karaoke.The echo works on the mic (not on the accompany channel). It would be good for effect or to make your voice not sound totally flat.Beyond those 2 observations, i have 2 major complaints. The buttons/UI are very non-intuitive to me. Some are pictures I don't recognize, or words that don't mean anything to me. Other than buttons blinking, you don't know the state of the machine. (The screen is only used for sound levels.) Second, the knob controls are not instantaneous and occasionally mess up. I could turn a knob and not hear a difference in sound for half a second or more. I think they are analog knobs being converted to digital values, but the scanning lags and occasionally I had volume totally drop out until i wiggled the knob again to refresh the level.If I just HAD to use this device, I think I could work around its issues and shortcomings, and if you can get it super cheap, it's probably a lot better than nothing...but if you can save up just a little more money, there are a lot of other devices out there that can do the things this mixer promises, but better, and easier.
