These work well for storing clothing but I find them a little too big for efficient carryon luggage. To fit more tightly in a carryon size bag they should be about four inches smaller in both directions. The pump works very well and is fairly lightweight.

I wish that I had discovered vacuum bags sooner, they are so great for saving space in my storage starved home. I have a lot of clothing and not enough closet space, so I usually pack away off season stuff. These are perfect for my sweaters and cold weather clothes because I can actually get the lid on the totes now. In this set, you get five bags that are 32x24. They are a good size to fit 4-8 sweaters in depending on the thickness of the tops. You zip them shut with a plastic slider and suck the air out with the included, plug in pump. I like that the pump has an on off switch. The pump sucks out the air quickly and you are left with a much smaller package. The only issue is that you can fit more in a box/tote, but it is going to now be a lot heavier! I also like these for thick blankets and comforters. My space for bedding is full, but now I can clear it out a bit. These bags are cool for travel, you could pack more in your suitcase, to bring the pump won't take up much room. But then, again, your suitcase will be heavier. The bags are heavyweight enough that they should last at least several seasons.
