Provides excellent protection from weathering and the elements, including UV rays and salt water. Ideal for boats, outdoor furniture, exterior doors, sills and more. Superior to polyurethane because it is flexible enough to expand with the wood, resists cracking and peeling, and adheres well to oily woods like teak and mahogany. Flows on freely for easy brushing. Been using this product for fifty plus years. Best that I know of. It will darken the wood a little.

I live in California. The powers that be have decided that the poly varnish I prefer is the gateway to hell and must be banished from the state. Although I have taken advantage of California's narrow profile to cross state lines and smuggle in the demon-overlord of wood finishes I prefer something easier. This product worked well for my shop concocted oil:varnish blend use. I cannot report on longevity as I have only just started using it.

This is absolutely the best spar varnish on the market. I use it for my deck railings on cedar wood. Love the high gloss and it is strong protective coating. Will last a long time.

I’ve been using this varnish for years now for our outdoor mahogany bar tables. The tables bake in the sun pretty much all day. No other product was able to effectively keep them from fading and drying out until I started using the man -o-war. We have it applied twice a year, Fall and Spring, and it keeps them looking almost brand new and very shiny.
