I've played the saxophone on and off for over 20 years. I have worked in the woodwind mouthpiece industry as a Rep for BIG NAMES in the game and I have play-tested everything out there from the boutique manufacturers and the major production houses too. Theo Wanne, Aaron Drake, Jody Jazz, 10mFan, Mouthpiece Cafe, Otto Link, Berg Larsen... all the way to Otto Link, Meyer and Selmer and even Yamaha. I was looking for a Jazz mouthpiece for tenor that could play straight-ahead jazz, but also cross over to pop/rock or even bluesy rock. Importantly, I wanted a mouthpiece that would fit into a reasonable budget this time instead of having to break the piggy bank. This mouthpiece does it. The model I received has a perfectly flat table, is finished with perfect balance, beautiful and somewhat thin tip rails, just perfect. Fits perfectly on the cork as well - although that might not be the case with every horn. The smaller tip opening gives an amazing ease of response. The sound is sweet with a fat, husky core. I play it with Boston Sax Shop Black Box reeds or Vandoren ZZ or Java reeds, all in size 2.5 and they pair perfectly with it. If you need a Jazz mouthpiece for Tenor Saxophone that will give you evenness and consistency with some oomph, a little brightness and pop, give this a try. It's important to note I played this alongside a Vandoren V16 in a 6 tip opening and there was no comparing the two - the Java took it hands down.

Es una boquilla casi completamente abierta y da un sonido preciso y muy seguro, con un poco de práctica se puede arreglar un detalle en el que deja salir mucho aire por los costados de la caña, nada serio. Me encantóTambién agrego foto para compararla con mi boquilla que venía de fábrica con el sax

Superb, well made Vandoren mouthpiece. Quite versatile but might trip some people up with its LONGGGG facing.

Am a intermediate tenor player. Wanted a different mouthpiece other than the yamaha. This mouthpiece makes a big difference in my sound. It's very easy to use and what I would term as free blowing. Also it give me a bigger jazzier sound.I would buy this mouthpiece again if I had to. So far, so good.
