I purchased this jack intending to fix a low spot in our home, didn’t realize until I started to install the jack that the only way you can turn the jack is with a little metal bar on the very top!. This is not only difficult to do once you’re reaching up to turn the bar to lift, once it has weight against the jack the bar wants to bend making it extremely difficult to finish lifting the floor!! There has to be a better way

We are using this pole jack in the basement under a 1st floor front load washer to stop it from bouncing and vibrating. It's off book use, but it's working perfectly. The washer is running quieter and smoother, it's not bouncing into the dryer every time I use it and you can barely feel vibration in the floor next to the washer when it's going full speed. Plus it helps the floor support the heavy weight of the washer. Wish I thought of this years ago.

I'm impressed. We had a tricky situation where a wall we added to an old house was sagging just enough to make a bathroom door stick. But right under where it needed added support there is an old hole, about five feet deep, that used to be used as a cellar. This product was perfect. We put a bad in the bottom of the hole and jacked the beam up just enough.Compared to other products, this one was heavy steel. Plus, and very important for what we did, the top plate is able to rotate to stay in place on the beam as you screw it up. Clever pins to set the height, too. No nuts to lose. They use steel pins, machined down just in from each in so that the weight of the pipe holds them in the holes. And they give you two of them.I know they say they are not for permanent use or for lifting, but a lot of people use them for it, and I think that's largely a liability thing to avoid blame when people use them for things they can't do properly. But they are capable of lifting and of being left in place. It's hard to imaging them failing in any reasonable use. I solved our problem, and so much cheaper than a foundation company.

I was originally going to order a cheaper one from home depot but their delivery was expensive. This one was more expensive for the item but free shipping meant I saved a few dollars compared to their total cost. I'm glad I bought it because the quality was worth the extra money. I really liked how easy it was to raise the screw with the bar, unlike the cheaper ones.

This is a very sturdy basement floor support jack. It is thick, heavy and substantial. Exactly what you want! The only negative, and it is minor, is that in multiple places they claim that the loose parts will be placed inside the tube for shipment so they don't get lost. Well, mine were not. They were on the outside of the tube in a plastic bag, which had been loosely shrink wrapped to the outside of the tube. Now I didn't lose my parts, which is great! But I certainly could have as the cardboard shipping box for these jacks is WAY too flimsy and lightweight for such a heavy item. Both ends of the box popped open during shipment and had been hastily re-taped by the UPS guy. Had the pins been floating around in the box, they would have been long gone.

As previous reviewers have said, the threads are a little rough, solved with some grease. The swivel top my come off, solved by peening the top of the screw. There should be a stop on the bottom of the screw to prevent it from coming all the way out.Other than that the jacks work great and are very sturdy.

Bought two to support a bunch of 18ft 4x12 beams that need to be removed. All the parts were present (they were in a sealed bag inside one of the tubes), and had no real issue with the included turning bar. One thing I didnt notice in the pictures was that in addition to the 4 large holes on each mounting plate, the top plate also had two smaller holes that we used to secure to the beam with #9 structural screws. It was perfect for keeping the beams on the posts after they were cut through. I'll probably never have another use for these things, but they did what they were supposed to do, and I cant imagine anything better in this price range. The only issue with the purchase was due to the size and weight of these posts, the end of one of the boxes seemed to have given way during shipping. This wasnt really a problem thought because they stored the parts inside the tubes and everything was still there.

I had a job where we needed to support the roof load to remove 32lf of exterior wall. I was leaning to another brand when I read reviews about how it just sits together and seemed unstable. I opted for the Vestil brand after reading that the plate is welded on. I was impressed when I un-packaged them (ordered 4) at their size and seeming very heavy duty. That carried over to their use on the job today. We supported a living room and bedroom with these and they worked terrific as intended. I will be using them in a couple weeks to support some beams for an elevated deck and cover. Will purchase again if needed.

As the other reviewers said, this item does all it should in ease of installation, quality and price.( More about price) I needed to replace a support column that a previous homeowner had removed to acommodate a pool table. Never mind that it supported two floors, a roof and a dormer! This was much easier then jacking out the footing where the old column was set and humping a concrete filled lally into place. The load was safely within the capacity of the jack. The comparable item at the large orange home center was usefull for a child's playhouse,- maybe. One question I have is why the price I paid on sunday had jumped up over 40% by friday, or is that just on my computer? I have seen this happen on other unrelated items I've bought from Amazon. Would have purchased another, but now I might as well shop locally. Still if you can get it at the lower price, do so.
